A system and method for directing and monitoring the whereabouts of persons within an environmentally hazardous area includes equipping each person with devices for monitoring personal physiological conditions (), equipment conditions (), topographical locations (), environmental conditions () and other pertinent data. The data are individually encoded and uploaded to a processing center () where they are analyzed () in order to ensure compliance with health or environmental norms and safety regulations, generate hot-spot mapping () and to issue real-time risk avoidance behavior directives (), worker, mechanism and material traffic directions, warnings (), permissions or interdictions.

Environmental risk management system and method

A motor system controller and a method of operating the controller are provided that enable automatic (i.e., without further user intervention), sequential display of selected parameter values. The controller includes a memory that stores a plurality of operating parameters associated with the motor system controller and a computer program. The controller also includes a user interface having an operator keypad and a liquid crystal display. The operator keypad can be used to access the memory and select certain of the operating parameters for sequential display. The computer program then works with the display to automatically, sequentially display values associated with the selected parameters. The method includes the steps of selecting parameters from a plurality of operating parameters associated with the motor system controller and automatically, sequentially displaying values associated with the selected parameters.

AC drive display

A removable adapter (24) for use with a motor control unit (14) having mass-termination connectors (28, 30, 32) is provided. The adapter (24) includes a circuit board (36) having a first side (62) and a second side (64) opposite the first side (62). The adapter (24) further includes terminal strip (38, 40, 42, 44), which may include screw terminals (64), disposed on the first side (62) of the circuit board (36) and mass-termination connectors (46, 48, 50) disposed on the second side (64) of the circuit board (36). The mass-termination connectors (46, 48, 50) of the adapter (24) are configured to directly, matingly engage the mass-termination connectors (28, 30, 32) of the control unit (14). Conduction paths (66) on the circuit board (36) extending between the terminal strips (38, 40, 42, 44) and the mass-termination connectors (46, 48, 50) allow individual wiring and control of signals input to and received from the control unit (14) through the mass-termination connectors (28, 30, 32) of the control unit (14). A mass-termination connector (52) may also be disposed on the first side (62) of the circuit board (36) to enable alternative use of individual wiring and mass-termination connection. Graphical overlays (56, 58, 60) may also be used.

Pluggable I/O breakout connector module

An enclosure for protectively housing a printed circuit board in an electronic circuit module includes a base having an internal surface and an external surface. The base includes a pair of raised mounting pads formed on the internal surface which define respective mounting surfaces. A pair of channels are also formed on the internal surface of the base. The enclosure further includes a cover having a panel portion and a pair of end wall portions. Respective projections are formed on each of the end wall portions which define grooves therein. The cover is assembled to the base by inserting the edges of the end wall portions provided on the cover into the channels provided on the base. A plurality of spring clips is disposed within each of the grooves provided on the cover. The spring clips can be positioned at any desired location along each of the grooves. When the cover is connected to the base, the spring clips urge electrical components mounted on the printed circuit board into abutment with the mounting pads provided on the base. As a result, a firm mechanical engagement is maintained between the electrical components and the mounting pads. The mounting pads conduct heat generated by electrical components away therefrom for dissipation.
