An active roll stabilizer includes a divided torsion bar () having torsion bar parts () which are arranged one behind the other along a torsion bar axis. An actuator () for transmitting torsional torques to the torsion bar () is provided. An electric motor () and a transmission () connected to the electric motor () are arranged in an actuator housing (). The actuator housing () is connected to the one torsion bar part () for conjoint rotation and the transmission () is connected, on the output side, to the other torsion bar part () for conjoint rotation. A motor housing () of the electric motor () is connected, by means of only one of the two axial ends of said motor housing, to the actuator housing () for conjoint rotation.

A gear mechanism for an anti-roll stabilizer of a vehicle, having at least one planetary gear mechanism stage with a sun gear, an internal gear and at least two planetary clears, at least one planetary gear having a first planetary part and a second planetary part which are mounted coaxially and are connected to one another via a spring apparatus. Gears, for example, for a gear train are disclosed. The gear may be divided into two axially adjacent spur gears and have a torsion spring in the form of a circular ring segment. Between two peripherally mutually opposing spring ends, a slot may be formed in which two cams engage which are each assigned to one of the two spur gears. One of the cams may be assigned to one of the two spring ends and the other cam may be assigned to the other spring end. The two cams may be arranged at least substantially overlap-free in an axial direction, wherein contact faces for the cams formed at both spring ends of the torsion spring are arranged on a radially outer end of the spring ends. The contact faces may be delimited radially inwardly by clearances on the spring ends.
