Methods and systems for converged wired and wireless access optimization are described. An access system includes a wired access system, a wireless access system deployed on the wired access system, and a resource controller in communication. The resource controller determines whether traffic usage data collected from the wired access system and the wireless access system breaches one or more congestion thresholds, determines which of the wired access system and the wireless access system is a breaching access system; determines, for the breaching access system, a contributory percentage of the traffic usage data with respect to a breached congestion threshold, and initiates resource reduction at a lower priority access system when the contributory percentage of the breaching access system is same or less than a non-breaching access system, where the lower priority access system is one of the wired access system or the wireless access system.

Converged wired and wireless access optimization

Various embodiments comprise systems, methods, architectures, mechanisms and apparatus for enabling dynamic configuration of CBSD devices with CBRS spectrum grants defined/sized using enhanced SAS channel assignment capabilities supporting low bandwidth channels/applications (e.g., IoT services) in the shared spectrum while minimizing spectrum wastage. Existing CBSD-SAS call flow message exchange and registration data specifications are modified in accordance with various embodiments to provide support for radio types having spectrum requirements less than the nominal minimum channel size.

Reduced spectrum allocation in CBRS networks

Apparatus and methods for content fragmentation, distribution, protection, and re-constitution within a content distribution network. In one embodiment, the apparatus and methods enable distribution of content fragments to edge nodes (which may include user or subscriber CPE), thereby enabling edge networks or membership groups to be established wherein content can be shared solely at the edge. In one variant, high data bandwidth, symmetric uplink/downlink, low latency PHY links (e.g., 5G NR-compliant wireless interfaces) between the edge nodes participating in the edge networks or membership groups are used such that particular quality of service/experience performance requirements can be met. Distribution of the fragments also advantageously enhances redundancy and security.

Apparatus and methods for content storage, distribution and security within a content distribution network

Gateway apparatus and methods for providing data services (including IoT data services) which leverage existing managed network (e.g., cable network) infrastructure. The disclosed methods and apparatus enable, among other things, delivery of IoT data services in a unified manner via a common portal or IoT gateway (IoTG) which may be both remotely accessed by a user, and remotely controlled/configured by the host network operator (e.g., MSO). In one variant, the premises devices include RF-enabled receivers (enhanced consumer premises equipment, or CPEe) configured to receive (and transmit) OFDM waveforms via a coaxial cable drop to the premises, and interface with the aforementioned IoTG to enable provision of both 5G high-speed data services and lower bandwidth IoT services to the premises, all via a single coaxial cable drop in the exemplary embodiment.

Gateway apparatus and methods for wireless IoT (internet of things) services

Apparatus and methods for repeater/extender operation of a wireless-enabled device, including for extending the range or coverage in a wireless network subject to poor signal propagation or obstructions. In one embodiment, the apparatus and methods leverage use of a CPE (consumer premises equipment) configured as a 5G mmWave extender to extend RF signals from one or more base stations (e.g., a NodeB) to one or more other premises. In one variant, the CPE includes (i) a internal unit configured to provide 5G and Wi-Fi services to local UE, as well as other standard CPE functions; (ii) a donor apparatus configured to receive/transmit 5G signals to/from the one or more base stations; and (iii) a service apparatus configured to radiate 5G signals to UE/CPE with weak or no NodeB connectivity. The CPE is configured to create and dynamically update a weighted beam matrix used to select beams.

Wireless repeater apparatus and methods of operation

Various embodiments comprise systems, methods, architectures, mechanisms and apparatus providing a low-latency trading platform and/or communications system wherein one or more remote client devices communicate with a proxy server via a first communications channel, the proxy server being tightly coupled to (co-located and directly communicating with) a programmable hardware platform configured to communicate with an equities exchange system via a second communications channel, the location of the proxy server and hardware platform being proximate that of at least one equities exchange system, wherein the proxy server is updated by client device communications defining trade execution profiles associated with each of a plurality of equities and corresponding trading strategies, and wherein the hardware platform executes equity trades in response to substantially real time data received from the equities exchange. Various embodiments provide a mechanism for automatically provisioning the communications system in accordance with an Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) offering from a provider of network services.
