A broadband and multiband antenna of reduced dimension, preferably to be used as external antenna for vehicles is disclosed. The antenna system includes an antenna comprising: a planar ground plane, a planar radiating element having a configuration formed by a central segment and first and second lateral segments extending from the central segment. A feed connection line is connected between the central segment and an edge of the ground plane, and a ground connection line is connected between the central segment and said edge of the ground plane.

Broadband antenna system

Antenna system adapted for integration in side mirrors of a vehicle. The antenna system includes two radiating conductors and a reflector coplanarly disposed on a same dielectric substrate of a printed circuit board. The radiating conductors are connected to the reflector through transmission lines electromagnetically coupled to a frequency band of operation. In order to optimize the radiating of the antenna system in a 180&#xb0; sector that covers one lateral of the vehicle, the reflector is separated from the two radiating conductors by a distance included between 0.3 times and one time the central wavelength; and the reflector is less than 6 times wider than the radiating conductors.

Broadband antenna system for a vehicle

A MIMO antenna system for a vehicle comprising first and second monopole antennas, which comprises first, second and third conductors. First and second conductors are electrically connected in parallel, and the third conductor is coupled to the first and second conductors. The first conductor has a height (H) and thickness (t) such that the H/tratio is within 5 to 45 to provide a resonant frequency at a first LTE frequency band. The second conductor has a height of 30%-60% Hto provide a resonant frequency at a second LTE frequency band. The third conductor provides resonant frequencies at third and fourth LTE frequency bands, and having an electrical length such that the coupling level of the third conductor with respect to first and second conductors in the third and fourth LTE frequency bands is greater than 10 dB.

The invention relates to a rearview mirror device for vehicles incorporating a radio-frequency reception system. The rearview mirror device comprises: a light-reflective surface made of an electrically conductive material, and at least one planar conductive element lying on a plane substantially parallel to said reflective surface. The light-reflective surface and said conductive element are capacitively coupled and are used in combination for the reception of radio-frequency signals. The invention provides a rearview mirror with great simplicity and very-low cost.

Also, said ground-plane can be reduced compared to those of antennas with solid ground-planes.
