An imaging system includes transmit circuitry, a transducer array with an array of capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer elements, a beamformer, a decoder and a display. The transmit circuitry includes a signal generator and at least one excitation coding scheme. The transmit circuitry combines an excitation signal generated by the signal generator with an excitation coding scheme of the at least one excitation coding scheme, generating a coded excitation signal. The array of transducer elements is excited with the coded excitation signal to emit ultrasound signals. The coding scheme does not introduce heating on the capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer elements. The array of ultrasonic transducer elements receives echo signals produced in response to the ultrasound signals interacting with structure and generates electrical signals indicative thereof. The beamformer beamforms the electrical signals, the decoder removes the coding from the beamformed signals, and the display displays an image with the decoded signals.

CMUT heatless coded ultrasound imaging

An ultrasound imaging system includes a transducer array configured to transmit an ultrasound pressure field and receive an echo pressure field for a contrast-enhanced scan, and generate an electrical signal indicative of the received echo pressure field. The system further includes a signal processor configured to process the electrical signal and generate at least contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) data indicative of nonlinear signal in the electrical signal. The system further includes a microbubble processor configured to process the CEUS data and generate microbubble data based on a predetermined contrast-agent microbubble size, shape and adjacency for microbubbles of interest. The system further includes a display configured to display a microbubble image indicative of the microbubble data.

Super resolution ultrasound imaging

An ultrasound imaging system includes an image processor and a velocity processor configured to process beamformed ultrasound data representing structure flowing through a tubular object and generate, respectively, an image indicative of the tubular object and vector flow imaging data indicative of the structure flowing through the tubular object. The system further includes a segmentation processor configured to segment the tubular object from the image based on a combination of both the vector flow imaging data and the image, wherein a resulting segmentation extends from wall-to-wall of the tubular object. The system further includes a display configured to display the image with the segmentation and the vector flow imaging data superimposed thereover, with the vector flow imaging data extending from wall-to-wall within the tubular object. The system further includes the automatic computation of largest vessel diameter (Dmax), and/or quantitative flow measures such as Peak systolic velocity (PSV) and/or volume flow.
