A tool includes a main body configured to be disposed within a tubular string within a wellbore, such that a location of the tool within the tubular string is changeable between a surface location and a downhole location. The tool includes one or more sensors configured to measure downhole parameters from which the physical properties of the wellbore can be determined. The tool further includes a flapper configured (a) to, in response to the position of the tool changing from the surface location to the downhole location, pivot radially from a closed position in which the flapper is aligned with the main body to an open position in which the flapper is away from the main body, and (b) to, in response to the position of the tool changing from the downhole location to the surface location, pivot radially from the open position to the closed position.

Wellbore properties measurement and determination

A drilling fluid temperature optimization system includes a receiving tank and one or more nozzle assemblies. Each nozzle assembly includes a housing enclosing an inner chamber fluidically connected to one or more nozzles. Each of the one or more nozzle assemblies is configured to receive within its respective inner chamber drilling fluid flowing from the wellbore. The system also includes an air compressor configured to inject compressed air into each inner chamber, forming a mixture of air entrained in drilling fluid flowing through the inner chamber to the one or more nozzles. The system is configured such that the receiving tank receives the mixture as it is expelled from the one or more nozzles.

Drilling fluid temperature optimization

Systems and methods include a method for using a smart retrievable service packer for pressure testing operations. A service packer is installed to a depth in a well. The service packer includes one or more radio frequency identification devices (RFIDs) positioned above and below a packer element of the service packer. A determination is made, by analyzing information received from the one or more RFIDs, that a pressure leak has occurred across the service packer. The pressure leak is reported to a surface receiver system at a surface of the well.

Bottom hole assemblies with a combined roller-underreamer assembly can include: a body configured to be attached to a drill pipe; an uphole ring attached to the body; a downhole ring attached to the body between the uphole ring and the downhole end of the body; a sliding ring mounted around the body between the uphole ring and the downhole ring; a set tube slidably mounted around the body between the uphole ring and the sliding ring; a reamer assembly with at least one first articulated arm with extending between the uphole ring and the downhole end of the set tube; and a roller assembly with: at least one second articulated arm extending between the uphole end of the set tube and the sliding ring; and a rolling positioned at a joint of each second articulated arm.

Bottom hole assemblies for deploying sheets of material in a wellbore include: a body configured for attachment to a drill pipe; a spool ring attached to the body; a spring ring; and rolls of fabric.

Bottom hole assemblies for deploying fabric can include: a body configured to be attached to a drill pipe; a control tube disposed inside the body at a position controlled by engagement of a cam with a continuous guide path; a set tube, the set tube and the body together defining a pressure chamber with the body defining an inlet port extending between the interior cavity and pressure chamber, the set tube movable between a rolling position and a reaming position; a reamer assembly with at least one first articulated arm with extending between first attachment point on the body and the set tube; and a roller assembly with: at least one second articulated arm extending between the set tube and a second attachment point on the body; and a roller positioned at a joint of each second articulated arm.
