The CRF platform comprises at least one processor; a non-transitory memory communicatively coupled to the at least one processor that stores a plurality of prioritized international call route lists where each prioritized international call route list associates alternative international communication service carrier routes in a prioritized order with an international telephone number; and a call process application stored in the non-transitory memory that, when executed by the processor, receives a request for a prioritized international call route list from a network element, where the request comprises an international telephone number, pads out the international telephone number received from the network element to form a 15-digit number, looks up a prioritized international route list using the 15-digit number in the non-transitory memory, and sends the prioritized international route list to the network element.

A method of providing prioritized call route lists to network elements of communication service carriers. The method comprises building prioritized route lists by a centralized routing function (CRF) platform by processing prioritized route list transactions built by a route generation application based on key performance indicators, receiving a request for a prioritized route list by the CRF platform from a session border controller (SBC) controlled by the first communication service carrier, where the request comprises an identity of a second communication service carrier and a destination telephone number, determining a subscriber service level associated with the second communication service carrier by the CRF platform, based on the determined subscriber service level, looking up a prioritized route list by the CRF platform based on the destination telephone number, and sending the looked up prioritized route list by the CRF platform to the SBC.

Call route generation for other communication service carriers as a service

A central routing function (CRF) platform. The CRF platform comprises a processor, a memory that stores prioritized call route lists, and an application stored in the memory. When executed by the processor the application receives a request for a prioritized call route list from a network element, where the request comprises an indication of a location of a call originator of a call and a destination telephone number, determines a call type of the call, selects a prioritized call route list associated with the destination telephone number from the non-transitory memory based on the call type, determines that a percent allocation rule applies to the call, based on the percent allocation rule, removes the first priority call route from the selected prioritized call route list to make an adapted prioritized call route list, and sends the adapted prioritized call route list to the network element.

Domestic long-distance call route generation

A communication system includes a switching system and a service control system. The switching system receives and processes a communication request to transfer a query message. The service control system receives and processes the query message to generate and transfer a response message indicating a route. The switching system receives and processes the response message indicating the route and transfers a communication using the route. The service control system may process the query message with multiple parallel functions to generate an action message and process the action message to select the route.

Centralized service control for a telecommunication system

A computer system receives a first message from an originating communication node indicating a telephone number for a user. The computer system processes the telephone number, number portability data, and user mobility data to identify a first route number for a home communication node and a second route number for a visited communication node currently serving the user. The computer system transfers a second message to the originating communication node indicating the first route number and the second route number. The call may be routed from the originating communication node to the visited communication node based on the second route number, but if the visited communication node is unable to complete the call, the call may be routed from the originating communication node to the home communication node based on the first route number.

Integrated number portability and user mobility for a communication system

An IP system receives a call placed to an ENUM address. The IP system transfers a signaling message indicating the ENUM address to a processing system. For a call to a ported number, the processing system translates the ENUM address into the LRN for a communication node that serves the called party and returns the LRN to the IP system. The IP system routes the call based on the LRN.

A call processing system for handling a call comprising a signaling interface configured to receive an initial address message wherein the initial address message identifies a calling party number, a processing system configured to process the calling party number to determine if the calling party number is in a first format accepted by a routing system and modify the initial address message if the calling party number is in a second format not accepted by the routing system, and the signaling interface further configured to transmit the modified initial address message to the routing system.

Call processing system

A route manager queries a new network element to identify egress routes coupled to the network element and to identify external nodes coupled to the egress routes. The route manager queries a database with identifiers for the external nodes to identify associated telephone numbers. For each telephone number associated with an external node, the route manager associates the telephone number with the egress routes coupled to the external node and with the new network element. The route manager receives a call request to one of the telephone numbers, and in response, selects the new network element and one of the egress routes associated with the telephone number.

Emergency route control for a communication network

A first network element receives a call and transfers the telephone number. A route manager processes the number to select a second network element. The route manager transfers a query to the HLR to determine if the home MSC is serving the number. If the home MSC is serving the number, the route manager selects a first route from the second network element to the home MSC. If the home MSC is not serving the number, the route manager transfers a second query to the VLR to determine if the visiting MSC is serving the number. If the visiting MSC is serving the number, the route manager selects a second route from the second network element to the visiting MSC. The first network element routes the call to the second network element, and the second network element routes the call over the selected one of the first and second routes.

Network element control for a communication system coupled to a mobile network

A route manager queries network elements to identify egress routes and external nodes coupled to the network elements. The route manager queries a database to identify telephone numbers associated with the external nodes. For each telephone number associated with an external node, the route manager associates the telephone number with the egress routes coupled to the external node and with the network elements coupled to the egress routes. On a call, the route manager selects one of the network elements and the egress routes associated with the telephone number.

Automated route control for a communication network

The invention helps solve problems with technology that detects international calls. When an international call is detected a database is queried. Dependent on the results of the database query, present conditions based up on criteria, the call is either routed using international routing or the call is routed using an internet protocol (IP) gateway.

System and method for providing intercept of international calls to reroute the call from the default international routing

A communication system receives a call to a called number. The called number includes a destination number and a correlation code. The communication system routes the call to a destination based on the destination number but not based on the correlation code. The communication system transfers the correlation code to the destination with the call. The communication system receives a query from the destination indicating the correlation code. In response to the query, the communication system retrieves information from a database using the correlation code and transfers the information to the destination.
