A method may include storing, at a network device, a user device identifier associated with a user device that has subscribed to access an edge service, an edge service identifier associated with the edge service, and an edge device identifier associated with an edge device at an edge network to provide the edge service; receiving, at the network device, a request to access the edge service, wherein the request includes the user device identifier and the edge service identifier; performing, by the network device, a lookup to determine the edge device identifier; and transmitting, by the network device and to the user device, the edge device identifier for accessing the edge service at the edge device.

Systems and methods for device traffic steering using edge DNS mediation service (EDMS)

An application client on a user device receives an internal request from within the application client. The internal request is associated with edge application device(s) hosted by a computing platform. In response to the internal request, the application client obtains an authorization token from the computing platform and initiates an edge discovery request to the computing platform using the authorization token. In response to the edge discovery request, the application client receives connection information of a particular edge application device among the edge application device(s) that is identified for the application client by the computing platform. The application client establishes a connection between the application client and the particular edge application device using the connection information of the particular edge application device.

Edge discovery authorization for a user device

A system may receive registration information regarding a user equipment (UE). The system may determine a UE usage type for the UE from a plurality of UE usage types. The plurality of UE usage types includes a first UE usage type associated with accessing first services using a cloud domain name system (DNS) and a second UE usage type associated with accessing second services using an edge DNS. The system may receive a notification indicating that the UE is requesting access to a service and identify an edge device for providing access to the service. The system may obtain information identifying the UE usage type of the UE based on UE identification information of the UE. The system may provide, to the UE, DNS information regarding using the cloud DNS or the edge DNS to obtain a network address of the edge device.

Systems and methods for edge device discovery

A system described herein may provide a technique for the dynamic selection of edge computing devices, such as Multi-Access/Mobile Edge Computing devices ('MECs'), to provide services to User Equipment ('UEs') based on factors such as MEC load, services and/or applications available or supported by particular MECs, UE location, service requirements, and/or other factors. One or more devices that are external to a network with which MECs are provided may be able to request services from a suitable MEC and/or identify a suitable MEC to provide such services. In this manner, control over the selection of particular MECs may be provided to devices or systems that are external to the network, thus providing an enhanced level of granular control and dynamism to such external devices or systems with respect to MEC selection.

Systems and methods for demand-based dynamic service provisioning in an edge computing system

A first device may receive, from a first client device, a request for information from a second client device, wherein the second client device is connected to a second device that is geographically separated from the first device, and the first device is hosted in a first cloud computing environment and the second device is hosted in a second cloud computing environment. A first outbound routing agent associated with the first device may route the request to a second outbound routing agent associated with the second device, wherein the second outbound routing agent routes the request to the second client device to cause the second client device to generate a response. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods to allow a multimedia device to operate in multiple modes of configuration simultaneously. The disclosed multimedia system includes a first communications circuitry having an access point connected to an external network and a number of devices. The first communications circuitry can receive and distribute media content over a wireless network, the wireless circuitry facilitating multi-modal simultaneous configuration of the multimedia device. The multi-modal simultaneous configuration includes a first mode and a second mode. The first mode facilitates exchange of data between the multimedia device and the other devices through the access point such as a wireless access point. The second mode facilitates direct exchange of data between the multimedia device and other devices in the wireless network without utilization of the access point. The multimedia device can change its mode of configuration based on a predefined trigger.

Systems and methods for flexible wireless connectivity of devices

The transfer of media transmitted from a media provider from a first rendering device to a second includes establishing a network connection between the media provider and the second rendering device based on a network location and session context information. A desired transmission duplication of the media is determined such that the duplication will prevent substantial interruption of the rendering of the media as experienced by a user listening to both of the rendering devices, and that desired transmission duplication is sent to both the first rendering device and the second rendering device. The transmission is continued from the media provider to the second rendering device.
