The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer readable media for single and multi-carrier downlink and uplink control information resolution. A method for downlink and uplink control information resolution includes receiving a downlink signal including downlink control information and uplink control information. The downlink signal is processed to segregate at least some of the downlink control information in the signal from the uplink control information in the signal. The segregated downlink control information is processed using downlink control information processing resources. The uplink control information in the signal is processed using uplink control information processing resources.

The method further includes generating and applying per-UE channel noise to the signals, where applying per-UE channel noise includes applying different channel noise to at least some of the uplink signals. The method further includes transmitting the uplink signals with the per-UE channel noise to the air interface device under test.

A method for utilizing adaptive symbol processing in a multi-UE simulator is disclosed and includes receiving a downlink signal including a plurality of downlink signal portions, wherein each of the downlink signal portions is received via one of a plurality of carriers and forwarding the downlink signal portions to a first downlink signal chain processing module belonging to a plurality of downlink signal chain processing modules, wherein symbol processing task modules associated with the plurality of downlink signal chain processing modules are grouped in logical task pools of similar symbol processing task modules. The method includes processing the downlink signal portions using the symbol processing task modules associated with the first downlink signal chain processing module. The method also includes selecting a similar symbol processing task module from the logical task pool associated with the first symbol processing task module to assist with the processing of the downlink signal portions.

A system for scalably simulating multiple LTE UE devices includes an LTE multi-UE simulator. The simulator includes a common public radio interface (CPRI) module for receiving downlink data from an evolved node B (eNode B) under test and a downlink signal chain processing module including a common section for performing UE agnostic processing of the downlink data and a UE specific section for performing UE specific processing of the downlink data. The simulator further includes a control digital signal processor (DSP) for receiving the downlink data from the common section of the downlink signal chain processing module, for processing downlink data to obtain control information, and for forwarding the control information to the downlink signal chain processing module. The UE specific portion of the downlink signal chain processing module performs the UE specific processing using the control information.

According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a system for integrated sub-block interleaving and rate matching, which includes a buffer memory for storing sub-block data that has been encoded according to a channel encoding algorithm and a rate matching module for reading the sub-block data from the buffer memory using a sequence of addresses according to an interleaving algorithm, such that data is transferred from the buffer memory to the rate matching module in an order that emulates the order that the data would be produced by the interleaving algorithm or in the order that the data would be produced by the interleaving algorithm as modified by a rate matching algorithm.

An improved variable matching network for use in a multi-band, multi-mode communications device provides dynamic, fine-tune impedance matching based on current operational conditions associated with a given signal. In one embodiment, gross parameters are selected based on one or more of the operational conditions. Delta parameters are provided using an optimization algorithm based on one or more of the operational conditions. And the gross and delta parameters are combined to obtain overall matching parameters that dynamically fine-tune discrete matching circuitry.

Disclosed is a system and method for channel decoding speech frames in a receiver capable of multiple (M) codec modes, wherein channel encoded speech frames include an inband bit portion and a speech portion. An inband bit decoder decodes the inband bit portion () of a received frame to obtain confidence levels associated with each of the M codec modes. Using these confidence levels, the codec modes are ordered from most to least likely. The speech frame is then decoded by a channel decoder using the most likely codec mode (). A frame determination check () is performed to determine the quality of the decoded speech frame. If the decoded speech frame is determined to be of poor quality, then the channel decoding process is repeated using the next most likely codec mode () corresponding to the next highest inband bit decoding confidence level. This process is repeated until a good speech frame is decoded or some exit criteria is reached.

Methods and systems are provided whereby correlations between a received signal sample set and a plurality of potential codeword data set are determined and a potential codeword with the highest correlation value is selected as the decoded codeword. The correlation of a potential codeword may be determined by computing a squared magnitude of correlation values between the potential codeword and the received sample set starting at various time points and then summing the squared magnitudes of the correlation values at those points. The number of time points used for correlation computation and summing depends on the time spread of the received symbol pulse. Furthermore, the correlations may be weighted before summing.

Calls in the satellite radiotelephone system are conducted as single or dual hop calls under the control of a satellite radiotelephone that initiates the call. In particular, a first satellite radiotelephone calling a second satellite radiotelephone can configure the call as a dual hop call by transmitting a suspension code to a switching center, thereby possibly avoiding a default action by the switching center to conduct the call a single hop call. The switching center recognizes the suspension code and conducts the call in the active state to the second satellite radiotelephone as a dual hop call. In other words, the suspension code transmitted by the first satellite radiotelephone instructs the switching center to avoid conducting the call as a single hop call which may be the default action performed by the switching center.

A method and apparatus for controlling frequency synchronization in a frequency correction feedback loop of a radio telephone. A processor in a frequency update controller ascertains increment/decrement values pro-proportionally related to confidence levels representing a ratio that a likelihood probability of estimated offset frequecies of an input carrier signal are accurate in proportion to a likelihood probability that the estimated offset frequencies are inaccurate. The processor adds or subtracts the value to a counter depending on its sign. When the counter reaches a certain predefined positive number, the counter is decremented by this number and the processor increases the frequency of a reference oscillator frequency. When the counter reaches a certain predefined negative number, the counter is incremented by the absolute value of the negative number and the processor decreases the frequency of the reference oscillator frequency.
