The present invention is directed to a battery pack including improved fuse arrangement. The battery pack includes a plurality of battery cells, a battery cell holder holding the battery cells in a fixed position relative to each other, a printed circuit board attached to the battery cell holder and a busbar attached to the printed circuit board. The busbar may include a first leg extending away from the printed circuit board and a second leg extending away from the printed circuit board. The second leg is generally parallel to the first leg. The battery pack may further include a fuse. The fuse may include a first terminal connected to the first leg of the busbar and a second terminal connected to the second leg of the busbar such that the fuse is generally parallel to the printed circuit board.

Battery pack

The present invention is directed to a battery pack including improved temperature sensing features. The battery pack includes a plurality of battery cells, a battery cell holder holding the battery cells in a fixed position relative to each other, a printed circuit board attached to the battery cell holder and a thermistor attached to the printed circuit board in a position between the printed circuit board and at least one of the plurality of battery cells to sense a temperature of at least one of the plurality of battery cells. The printed circuit board includes a cutout to retain heat in the thermistor.

A battery pack comprises a battery pack housing operably connectable to a power tool, at least five battery cells disposed in the housing, and battery pack terminals electrically connectable to power tool terminals of the power tool and electrically connected to the battery cells. An inductance characteristic of the battery pack is greater than 0 and less than 0.20 micro Henries. A ratio of inverse impedance and inductance characteristic of the battery pack is greater than 5&#xd7;10&#x3a9;H.

Battery pack for a cordless power tool

A battery pack includes a battery cell holder, where the battery cell holder includes multiple frames with each of the frames defining a cavity and adjacent frames connected to each other. The battery pack includes at least one pouch battery cell disposed in the cavity of each of the frames, where pouch battery cells disposed in adjacent frames are electrically connected to each other. The multiple frames are arranged in a stacked configuration.

The present disclosure presents an electrical connector comprising a wire coupling portion, the wire coupling portion including a generally flat, plateau portion wherein the plateau portion includes a trough. The electrical connector wherein the trough is generally semi-cylindrical. The electrical connector further comprises an overlap portion that is positioned generally parallel to the plateau portion. The electrical connector wherein the overlap portion is positioned generally adjacent to an open side of the trough. The electrical connector further comprising an electrical device coupling portion at an end of the electrical connector opposite to the wire coupling portion.

A power tool/battery pack combination includes an electric motor, one or more electrochemical cells, and a capacitive element. The electric motor is connected in series to a first switch. The series combination of the electric motor and the first switch is connected to a first terminal and a second terminal. The one or more electrochemical cells are connected across a third terminal and a fourth terminal. The third terminal and the fourth terminal are coupled respectively to the first terminal and the second terminal. The one or more electrochemical cells supply power to the electric motor via the first switch. The capacitive element includes one or more capacitors. The capacitive element is connected across the third terminal and the fourth terminal. The capacitive element is capable of storing inductive energy generated by the one or more electrochemical cells.
