A navigation system for one or more vehicles includes: a first camera configured to observe the vehicle(s) and first and second reference points within a first field of view, wherein the first and second reference points have first and second known spatial positions, respectively, the first camera being further configured to produce a first output signal from observation of the observed vehicle(s) and reference points; a second camera configured to observe the vehicle(s) and reference points within a second field of view, the second camera being further configured to produce a second output signal from observation of the observed vehicle(s) and reference points; and a processor operatively connected with the first and second cameras and configured to determine a respective spatial position for each vehicle(s) from the first and second output signals and from known first and second camera spatial positions of the first and second cameras.

An energy beam profiler and calorimeter (EPC) is disclosed. The EPC includes a target board having a front surface and a back surface, a first plurality of oscillating heat pipes arranged as columns on a first plate, and a second plurality of oscillating heat pipes arranged as rows on a second plate. The target board is configured to receive an impinging energy beam at the front surface of the target board, and the first plate and second plate are adjacent to and in thermal communication with the back surface of the target board.

An example apparatus includes a cable track that includes a first side and a second side that is opposite the first side. The apparatus further includes two or more spacers. The two or more spacers include respective first ends that are attached to the first side of the cable track and respective second ends that are opposite the respective first ends. The two or more spacers further include respective first surfaces between the respective first ends and the respective second ends and respective second surfaces that are opposite the respective first surfaces. The apparatus further includes two or more pins attached proximately to the respective second ends of the two or more spacers. A device includes an image sensor, first optics, second optics, and a processor. The first optics are configured to form a first optical pattern (OP) on the image sensor. The first OP is associated with a first wavelength. The second optics are configured to form a second OP on the image sensor. The processor is configured to generate a first turbulence estimate based on relative motion of the first OP, to generate a second turbulence estimate based on relative motion of the second OP, and to generate error correction data. The processor is also configured to adjust the first turbulence estimate based on the error correction data and the second turbulence estimate to determine an estimated turbulence value. The processor may also be configured to estimate a wind profile, a turbulence profile, or both.

System and method for estimating turbulence based on multiple wavelengths

An interface system for interfacing to a first receiving device receiving a first plurality of signals and a second receiving device receives a second signal includes a microcontroller coupled to the first receiving device and the second receiving device. The interface has an output. The microcontroller couples a first portion of the first plurality of signals from the first receiving device and receives the second signal after the first portion. The second signal is coupled to the output. Thereafter, the second portion of the first plurality of signals is coupled to the output.

A method for a communication system includes generating a message inquiry signal, sending the message inquiry signal to a base station to determine if updated command messages are available from the base station. A communication device and method for operating the same includes a GPS receiver that periodically generates a position signal, a wireless modem transmitting or receiving messages and a controller that is coupled to the receiver and the modem. The controller discontinues operating the wireless modem when the GPS signal generates the position signal and vice versa to reduce interference with the other device.

The present invention is directed to devices, systems, and methods for intelligent or 'smart' exercise equipment to indicate the location, the intent to use, and/or the amount and/or type of use of a piece of exercise equipment. More specifically, one embodiment of the invention may be used to locate or indicate the location of a portable piece of exercise equipment. Such an indicator may also indicate to other users, a particular user's intent to use the piece of equipment such that other users will not attempt to use the equipment or the current user may end their use of the equipment and pass it to the intended user. In a further embodiment, the indicator may not be activated if the piece of exercise equipment is already in use by a current user. In another embodiment of the invention, the amount of use of, e.g., repetitions done on, a piece of exercise equipment may be indicated to the user or may be logged for later viewing, downloading, or transmission. Similarly, another embodiment of the invention may determine, indicate, store, display, download, and/or transmit the type of exercise done on a piece of equipment. Any of the above embodiments may include electronic devices or systems mounted in or on the exercise equipment itself. Those systems and/or devices may be rechargeable at a recharging unit within the mounting location for that piece of equipment.
