A bag pad and dispenser therefor especially arranged for use at the point of sale of, for instance, discount stores, fast food outlets, and the like, in which the bag pad is made up of a number of identical all plastic bags in stacked congruent relation each having front and rear panels, closed bottoms and sides, and tear off lines transversely across the front and rear panels of the respective bags adjacent to but spaced from the top of bags that are congruently located through the thickness of the bag pad and that define a header for the bag pad at which the bags of the pad are adhered together and are free for full separation below the tear off lines, with the dispenser for such bag pad defining a pocket into which the bag pad header is slipped and secured to the dispenser for hanging the bag pad therefrom, which dispenser also defines a securing flange that accommodates anchoring of the dispenser to dispose the bag pad for bagging at the point of sale, and in its bag dispensing relation, in which an area of increased frictional characteristics that is provided on the front panel of each bag is exposed for consecutively manipulating a bag of the pad that is to receive a sold product to open such bag at its front panel for loading without removing the bag from the dispenser, or optionally to totally remove the bag entirely before loading of same.

The bag back panel flange includes a score line and the bags of the pad are united in pad form by heat welding the bags together at the top edging of the back panel flange, with a pad mounting hole or holes being formed in the pad bag back panel flanges for mounting of the bag pad to dispense the bags therefrom one at a time starting with the bag exposed at the front of the pad, as needed at the fast food facility to bag the usual cooked food containers at the point of sale the same for ready carrying away by the customer. The method disclosed effects formation from web stock of such bags in units consisting of a pair of such pads, the bags of which are top connected and stacked for forming the pads that are separated as part of the method.

Bottom gusset bag pad arrangement for liquid containers

A flat bottom plastic bag of two sided panel construction with the bottom of the bag formed by a gussett extending between the sealed ends of the bag, at which point the bag side panels are joined together, with the bag bottom gusset having a central fold line that is, in the flattened relation of the bag, disposed between the lower portions of the bag side panels, and that in such relation forms a first pair of adjacent bag plies that includes one of said bag side panel lower portions, and a second pair of bag plies that includes the lower portion of the other bag side panel, with said respective sets of bag plies being respectively joined together but free of adherence to each other by diagonally extending heat seals on either side of the bag that extend diagonally from the bag respective ends in converging relation to adjacent the respective bottom edgers of the bag that are defined by the respective bag plies. The bag has its ends formed by heat sealing the two bag side panels together at the bag ends along lines extending normally of the bag bottom, with the bag side panels also being severed across the top of same to both define the bag open end and a curved handle type open top of the bag. Also disclosed is a method of making a plurality of such bags from flattened plastic film tube stock, with no waste of the film material of the stock, and with the bags to be formed extending transversely of the tube stock.

Flat bottom plastic bag and method of making same

A bag dispensing package includes a stack of flat bags and a surrounding flexible receptacle, conveniently in the form of a plastic bag. Each flat bag within the receptacle includes a pair of opposed walls, one of the walls having a manually graspable flap on an outwardly facing surface and the other wall including an extension that extends outwardly from the remainder of the bag. The flexible receptacle includes an access opening arranged to communicate with the manually graspable flap of the uppermost bag of the stack while the remainder of the receptacle retains the extension of the outermost bag within the receptacle. The access opening is normally closed, being defined by a pattern of perforations so that when it is desired to utilize the bags, the opening is formed by tearing the receptacle along the pattern of perforations. The uppermost bag is then removed by grasping the manually graspable flap and pulling the bag outwardly of the receptacle. Interference between the extension and the receptacle causes the bag to open upon withdrawal.
