The game disclosed includes a movable staircase assembly that moves characters from one location on the staircase assembly to another. A spinner directs a player to place a character on the staircase at a specific location, to skip a turn, or remove an opposing player's character from the staircase. The winner is the first player to have all of her characters reach the end of the staircase. The staircase includes stationary and movable components that serially move the characters from one step to the next with a reciprocating motion of the movable component relative to the stationary component. A gear mesh and cam converts the rotary motion of a battery-operated motor to a reciprocating motion in the movable component.

Toy staircase game apparats and method

A strategy attack game including two consoles separated by an opaque shield and each having two 10.times.10 hole screens. Each console is also provided with one or two smaller, 7.times.7 screens that are movable with respect to the 10.times.10 screens. Players are provided with a fighter plane target token, an attack token and a number of tracer tokens. Each player attacks in turn using a movable screen to find the exact coordinates of the opponent's target token. In an attack, a movable smaller screen is positioned by its centermost hole on each side of the console at an attacker selected coordinate. Should that centermost location coincide with the target token, a direct hit is scored and the game is won. The movable screen has concentric bands of holes in defined outer, inner and innermost zones. If the target token is within any of the three zones, the attacked player must advise the attacking player of the target token's location and then move the target. Movement of the target token is limited by the zone in which the target token is found. Previous positions of the target token are marked by the tracer tokens and the attacked player is not permitted to again occupy a previous position. If the target token is not within any of the zones of the movable screen, the attacked player need not identify its location and it may be moved to any new, previously unoccupied position.

Strategy attack game

A hand held game that utilizes a small motor mechanism to uniquely animate various targets, targets, goals or projectile path to increase the challenge of putting an object through the goal or contacting the object with a target at a particular time. Possible game arrangements include: a soccer game with a moving goalie; a basketball game with a rotating hoop; a football game with a rotating goal post; a baseball game with a rotating disc scoreboard; a golf game with a rotating green; and a skee-ball game with an oscillating ramp. A small wind-up motor animates all of the targets, goals or paths.

Pocket sized mechanical game

A game involving the insertion of items into an open receptacle connected to an elongated member that is removably mounted on a hollow body containing a mechanism for effecting movement of the body relative to a playing surface. As the body moves about the playing surface, the elongated member, which is sufficient rigid to support the receptacle spaced from the body, is sufficiently flexible so that the receptacle moves asynchronously with respect to the body as a result of the movement of the body. The elongated member is hollow and receives items through an opening in the back of the receptacle. To facilitate storage of the game and emptying of the items from the elongated member, it is removably mounted to the body. Players are provided with a device to use in inserting the items into the receptacle and try to be the first to dispose of the items allocated to them.

Moving character action game

An interactive action game involving the selective collection of colored balls has a housing which supports a concave bowl with an electric battery motor driven foam paddle at the center of the concave surface. As the balls drop down to the center of the bowl, the balls contact the rotating foam paddle and are whirled about the concave surface of the bowl. Disposed over the top of the spinning foam paddle is a central shield. The top of the shield may contain a number of indentations, or separate pieces may be provided with indentations into which the players place the collected colored balls in a pattern to win the game.

Whirling ball collecting game

A game including a housing formed of two opposed halves that pivot together. Each half has steps from a raised end proximal a player to a gap at the lower distal end where the halves are pivotally connected. Two players are each allocated a number of marbles, that are initially placed adjacent the player's raised end, plus a larger shooter. By dropping the shooter, the player attempts to knock the marbles down the steps toward the gap. Whenever a player causes a marble to drop through the gap, the player gets another turn. After each turn, the player's shoot is returned to the player via a ramp. All of the marbles knocked down the steps and through the gap, drop through the shooter return ramp and are directed by another ramp toward the opposing player. Clearing the steps of all of the marbles allocated to a player wins the game.

Target game apparatus with steps

A toy mechanical monster has a rounded base that engages a playing surface and houses a motor driving an eccentric weight within the housing. Legs pivotally attached to the housing move to and away from the outside of the housing as it is driven by the eccentric weight increasing the effect of erratic movement of the monster about the playing surface. A head is supported atop the base for rotation by the motor. Pivotally connected to the head are pincer arms with claws that can be used to grasp toy action figures.

Toy mechanical monster

Pneumatic action toy creatures each have a body with a hollow resilient compressible portion. An opening in the compressible portion receives an elongated piston with a cross section substantially conforming to the opening to provide for pneumatic reciprocation of the piston. At least one set of opposed members is mounted for pivotal movement with respect to each other in a direction, and about an axis, generally transverse to the elongated dimension of the piston. Either by an enlargement on one end of the piston, or through interaction with the opposed members, the throw of the piston is limited to retain the one end within the compressible portion. Reciprocation of the piston upon compression and release of the resilient body portion actuates pivotal movement of the opposed members through mechanical engagement.

Pneumatic action toy creatures

Toy monster rocks have a base with a substantially flat bottom. One or more pieces are mounted for pivotal movement with respect to the base. Movement of the piece or pieces from a quiescent position to an aggressive position exposes an open mouth. An actuator effects such movement. In some embodiments the spring urges the pivotal movement against the restraint of a latch disengagable by a trigger part of the actuator. Gears are used to move pieces in other embodiments.

Mechanical action monster rock toys

An impact responsive toy vehicle in which two separable halves each carrying surface engaging wheels are connected together to provide a vehicle supported on the surface engaging wheels. A torsion spring biases the joinable ends of the two halves to separate and each flip over. The parts are retained together by a connecting latch that is disengageable by a slidable lever that moves in reponse to a force on an extending front bumper. One half carries a rotatable lock including a lug that cooperates with an abutment on the lever to lock the trigger lever against sliding movement in response to impact on the bumper. Fail-safe combination of the two parts rendering the impact responsive feature totally inoperative is accomplished by assembling the parts together with the arm of the torsion spring received in a recess on the underside of the chassis of the other half.

Impact responsive toy vehicle

A drawing toy including a housing providing a raised support for a generally flat platen. Within the housing is a battery powered motor with the motor shaft extending up through the platen. The motor rotates a magnet beneath the platen. Magnetically coupled templets, fitting over or abutting the shaft, are driven around the shaft. Various drawing implements may be inserted into the templet openings for producing geometric art patterns on nonmagnetic media positioned between the platen and the templet.

Magnetic drawing toy

A sprinkler toy, advantageously in the shape of a fire hydrant, includes a connector for placing the toy in fluid communication with a garden hose. A first spraying nozzle is capable of communicating with the connector through a pivotally operated valve. The first nozzle includes a plurality of apertures for producing an upwardly directed, diffused liquid spray. A second nozzle, also capable of fluid communication with the connector through a pivotally operated valve, is connected to the remainder of the toy by a flexible hose.

Sprinkler toy

A toy vehicle device includes a pair of interconnected wheeled vehicle housings. The two housings are connected by a member for conjoint movement in parallel to one another and for swinging movement of one vehicle about the other. One of the vehicles includes a propulsion mechanism for propelling both vehicles over a supporting surface. One of the vehicles also includes a mechanism for causing one vehicle to swing about the other vehicle. In one embodiment of the present invention, the mechanism for swinging one vehicle about the other includes a rotatable bar mounted on a first vehicle to periodically contact the supporting surface and pivot the first vehicle with respect thereto so that the first vehicle makes a sharp U-turn. Thus, the second vehicle, connected to the first vehicle by the member, swings in a wider arc about the first vehicle when the first vehicle undergoes a sharp U-turn. This action simulates in an entertaining manner a chase sequence between two vehicles.

Pivotably linked toy vehicles, one self-propelled

A self-propelled military type land vehicle with a power take-off friction coupling in the form of a rotating cannon fits into and is retained in a helicopter shell with the power coupling driving the helicopter rotor. A releasable latch carried by the helicopter retains the vehicle within the helicopter shell and in driving engagement during simulated flight. The helicopter has a hand grippable depending tail support with a trigger disposed near the support for effecting release of the land vehicle and disengagement of the power take-off coupling from the rotor without braking the rotor.

Toy land vehicle and aircraft combination

A portable pneumatic action game for two opposing players has a base including a central raised hollow core supporting a playing surface and oppositely extending end sills. The playing surface has an array of separate elongated channels, each with an aperture at each end. A transparent cover extends over all of the channels. Slots in the cover permit insertion of a playing piece into each channel. Slidably mounted on each of the sills is a manual air pump and nozzle which can be moved by the player along one end of the channel array to selectively register the nozzle in pneumatic communication with the aperture of one channel to propel the playing piece toward the opposite end. An opening is provided in the bottom of each channel adjacent each end for the playing piece to drop down into the hollow central core for later tallying of the respective players' scores.
