The invention provides an OLED device comprising an anode, a cathode and a light-emitting layer located therebetween, said light-emitting layer comprising an anthracene host and a styrylamine blue light-emitting compound; and, located between the said light-emitting layer and the cathode, a first electron-transporting layer that is greater than 0.5 nm and less than 5 nm thick; and a second electron-transporting layer consisting essentially of an anthracene located between the first electron-transporting layer and the cathode. The first electron-transporting layer includes a compound with a less negative LUMO level than the anthracene in the second electron-transporting layer. Devices of the invention provide improvement in features such as efficiency.

OLED with high efficiency blue light-emitting layer

An OLED includes an anode, a light-emitting layer disposed over the anode, and a first electron-injecting layer disposed over the light-emitting layer, wherein the first electron-injecting layer includes at least one organic host material having a reduction potential less than &#x2212;1.0 V vs. a Saturated Calomel Electrode and at least one dopant material capable of reducing the organic host material. The OLED also includes a second electron-injecting layer disposed in contact with the first electron-injecting layer, wherein the second electron-injecting layer includes at least one organic material having a reduction potential greater than &#x2212;1.0 V vs. a Saturated Calomel Electrode, and a cathode disposed over the second electron-injecting layer.

Disclosed is an electroluminescent device comprising a cathode and an anode and, located therebetween, a light-emitting layer (LEL) comprising a phosphorescent guest material, a hole- and electron-transporting host material, and an efficiency-enhancing material having an ionization potential lower than that of the host material and a triplet energy level that is lower than that of the phosphorescent guest material by no more than 0.2 eV. Such a device provides useful light emission features.

Organic electroluminescent devices with additive

A broadband-emitting OLED device having an anode and a cathode spaced from the anode includes a first light-emitting layer provided over the anode and containing a first host material and a first light-emitting material, wherein the first host material is a mixture of one or more mono-anthracene derivatives and one or more aromatic amine derivatives, wherein the mono-anthracene derivative(s) being provided in a volume fraction range of 5% to 50% relative to the total host volume, and the aromatic amine derivative(s) being provided in a volume fraction range of 50% to 95% relative to the total host volume, and a second light-emitting layer provided over or under the first light-emitting layer.

High performance white light-emitting OLED device

Disclosed is an electroluminescent device comprising a cathode and an anode; and, located therebetween, a light-emitting layer (LEL) comprising a phosphorescent green-light-emitting material and a host material for the light-emitting material, and in a layer adjacent to the LEL on the anode side, an exciton-blocking layer containing a compound having a hole mobility of at least 1&#xd7;10cmVsand a triplet energy exceeding that of the green-light-emitting material of the LEL. Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) that produce white light include an anode, a hole-transporting layer disposed over the anode, a blue light-emitting layer disposed over the hole-transporting layer, an electron-transporting layer disposed over the blue light-emitting layer, and a cathode disposed over the electron-transporting layer. The hole-transporting layer is doped with both a yellow-emitting and a red-emitting dopant. When used together with red, green, and blue color filters, the OLEDs produce red, green, and blue light with good color quality and high efficiency. White light-emitting device with improved doping

An organic light emitting device includes a substrate, an anode and a cathode disposed over the substrate; a luminescent layer disposed between the anode and the cathode wherein the luminescent layer includes a host and at least one dopant; the host of the luminescent layer being selected to include a solid organic material comprising a mixture of at least two components wherein the first component of the mixture is an organic compound that is capable of transporting both electrons and holes and that is substantially non-polar; and the second component of the mixture is an organic compound that is more polar than the first component; and the dopant of the luminescent layer being selected to produce light from the light emitting device.

Organic light emitting diode devices with improved luminance efficiency

An organic electroluminescent device includes a substrate; an anode and a cathode positioned relative to the substrate; an emission layer disposed between the anode and the cathode; a hole-transport layer disposed between the anode and the emission layer; and an electron-transport layer disposed between the cathode and the emission layer. The hole-transport layer includes two or more sublayers, one sublayer containing a stabilizing dopant, and the sublayer adjacent to the emission layer containing no stabilizing dopant.
