A multi-fluid injector system and methods of operation thereof are presented. One embodiment of such a fluid injector system includes an automatic refill procedure for a fluid injector system comprising a fluid injector and an operably engaged syringe. The procedure includes the step of determining, using an electronic control device operably controlling the fluid injector system, whether a fluid injection procedure involving the syringe is impending. If the electronic control device determines that the fluid injection procedure is not impending, such that the automatic refill will not interfere with the fluid injection procedure, an automatic refill of the syringe is initiated.

Multi-fluid medical injector system and methods of operation

A fluid delivery system and method for determining whether the correct fluid is being drawn into and/or dispensed from a syringe. The system includes a syringe, a fluid injector for drawing fluid into and dispensing fluid from the syringe, one or more sensors adapted to measure a force required to draw the fluid into and/or dispense the fluid from the syringe, a processor in communication with the one or more sensors, and a non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium in operable communication with the processor. The computer-readable storage medium contains one or more programming instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to receive from the one or more sensors one or more measurements of the force required to draw the fluid into and/or dispense the fluid from the syringe and determine from the one or more measurements whether a correct fluid is being drawn into and/or dispensed from the syringe.

Methods and systems for verifying the contents of a syringe used for medical fluid delivery

A method, system, and computer program product for predictive maintenance. A method may include receiving operation data associated with one or more injection systems, wherein the operation data includes one or more operation parameters associated with one or more operations of the one or more injection systems: determining one or more prediction scores for the one or more injection systems based on the operation data, wherein the one or more prediction scores include one or more predictions of one or more operation failures or misuses for the one or more injection systems; and providing maintenance data associated with the one or more operation failures or misuses, wherein the maintenance data is based on the one or more prediction scores.

System, method, and computer program product for predictive maintenance

A fluid injector system for delivering a multi-phase fluid injection to a patient and methods of fluid delivery is disclosed. Methods of creating and using a multi-aspect fluid path impedance model of the injector system are used. Modeling and adjustment of factors that affect impedance and prevent or reduce backflow, reduce the likelihood of fluid flow rate spikes and provide more accurate flow rates and mixing ratios of fluids may be repeated or happen essentially continuously during an injection. The adjustments may be determined before the injection or determined and/or adjusted during the injection. The determination may include sensor feedback commonly used in injectors such as pressure and position feedback as well as other sensors. In all cases, the user can be notified of adjustments through on-screen notices and/or through the recordation of the injection data by a control device of the injector at the conclusion of the injection.

Fluid path impedance assessment for improving fluid delivery performance

A method of maintaining an overall flow rate during a sequential delivery of at least two fluids to a patient's blood vessel includes delivering at least a first fluid into the patient's blood vessel at a first flow rate, delivering at least a second fluid into the patient's blood vessel at a second flow rate, and adjusting at least one of a first flow profile of the first flow rate and a second flow profile of the second flow rate to dampen a transient increase in the overall flow rate during a transition between delivering one of the first fluid and the second fluid to delivering the other of the first fluid and the second fluid.

System and method for improved fluid delivery in multi-fluid injector systems

A method for controlling fluid ratio accuracy during a dual flow injection with a powered injection system is described. The method includes predicting a first capacitance volume of a first syringe comprising a first medical fluid and a second capacitance volume of a second syringe comprising a second medical fluid with a first capacitance correction factor and a second capacitance correction factor, respectively, selecting a ratio of the first medical fluid and the second medical fluid to be administered to a patient in the dual flow injection, determining a relative acceleration ratio of a first piston of the first syringe and a second piston of a second syringe based on the predicted first capacitance volume and the predicted second capacitance volume, wherein the relative acceleration ratio is selected to maintain the selected ratio of the first medical fluid and the second medical fluid during the dual flow injection, and injecting a mixture of a first medical fluid and a second medical fluid having the selected ratio with the powered injection system.

A bolus control device for use with an injection device, the bolus control device including a valve body having a proximal end opposite a distal end. The valve body defines a fluid channel therethrough to allow a passage of medical fluid from the proximal end to the distal end. A connector is provided at the proximal end and configured for connecting to a fluid inlet line. A connector subassembly is provided at the distal end and configured for connecting to a fluid outlet line. A compressible check valve is disposed within the fluid channel, such that the compressible check valve is adjustable to control a cracking pressure at which the compressible check valve closes.

A system for injecting fluid to a patient is provided. The system provides manual or automatic verification and identification of the fluid to be injected, prior to, during or after injection. The system includes: a fluid having at least one active compound and at least one tracer compound; an injector configured to deliver the fluid to the patient through a fluid path set; at least one sensor coupled to at least one of the syringe, the injector, or the patient, configured to measure at least one property of the tracer in the fluid, and a feedback path to adjust at least one injection parameter of the injector based on at least one measurement from the at least one sensor.

A system for heating a medical fluid has at least one first fluid container for storing the fluid, a fluid injector having at least one second fluid container for receiving the fluid from the at least one first fluid container through a fluid path set, at least one heating element positioned in-line with the fluid path set between the at least one first fluid container and the at least one second fluid container of the fluid injector for heating the fluid to a pre-determined temperature as the fluid flows through at least one fluid path element, and a controller for controlling an output of the at least one heating element based on at least one of a property of the at least one heating element and a property of the fluid flowing through the at least one fluid path element.
