A circuit board is aligned with the housing so that a mounting pin may be inserted through a circuit board mounting hole and into a housing mounting bore. The pin is heated when inserted into the bore so that solder at the bottom tip is in a melted state. After the pin is in the bore, the solder fuses and secures the pin in the bore. Accordingly, the pin head secures the electrical circuit board to the housing.

Electrical circuit board mounting apparatus and method

A circuit board is aligned with the housing so that a mounting pin may be inserted through a circuit board mounting hole into a housing mounting bore. The pin is heated when inserted into the bore so that solder at the bottom tip is in a melted state. After the pin is in the bore, the solder fuses and secures the pin in the bore. Accordingly, the pin head secures the electrical circuit board to the housing.

Electrical circuit board mounting method

A precision microwave delay line fabricated using stripline techniques, but having features of a coaxial transmission line. The delay line is assembled from three pieces: a center board, an upper housing, and a lower housing. The center board is a nonconductive substrate with a stripline conductor. The stripline conductor defines a transmission path. The housings are made of conductive material. A channel is formed on the inner surface of each of the housings. The channels are arranged such that when the center board is sandwiched between the housings, the transmission path is contained within a uniform cross-section cavity formed by the channels. The housings are electrically connected to each other through the center board with plated-through holes at locations along the sides of the transmission path.

Compact delay line

A circuit for controlling the switching of a high-power diode microwave switch with a relatively low-power diode switching circuit by utilizing a high-power quadrature hybrid coupler in the switch with the switch input and diode switching element being connected to one leg of the coupler, the output of the switch being connected to a second leg of the coupler, the third and fourth legs of the coupler being capacitively grounded to provide an a-c short at RF frequencies and thereby reflect microwave energy back into the switch, and a switch control circuit being connected to the third leg of the coupler. The coupler divides the power input to the switch so only a portion thereof is incident on the diode switch control circuit, and thus provides isolation between the control circuit and the switch input and output.
