An adaptive blade for a laryngoscope includes a proximal end, which is mechanically connectable or connected to a handle in order to form an adaptive laryngoscope, a first flexible bar, which extends from the proximal end of the adaptive blade to the distal end thereof, a second flexible bar, which extends from the proximal end of the adaptive blade to the distal end thereof, and a connecting structure with a first end, which is connected to the first flexible bar in an articulated manner, and with a second end, which is connected to the second flexible bar in an articulated manner. The first flexible bar is formed by a first member made of a first material and a second member made of a second material. An interface between the first member and the second member extends over at least half the distance between the proximal end and the distal end of the adaptive blade.

An adaptive blade for a laryngoscope includes a proximal end, which is mechanically connectable or connected to a handle in order to form an adaptive laryngoscope, a first flexible bar, which extends from the proximal end of the adaptive blade to the distal end thereof, and a second flexible bar, which extends from the proximal end of the adaptive blade to the distal end thereof. At the distal end of the adaptive blade, the flexible bars are connected to each other mechanically rigidly or in an articulated manner. In the proximal direction from the distal end of the adaptive blade, the flexible bars are mechanically connected to each other in such a way that they are movable relative to each other substantially in their longitudinal directions.

A medical instrument with a shaft, a handle positioned on the proximal end of the shaft, a tool positioned on the distal end of the shaft with two jaw members that can be displaced between an open and a closed position, and with an actuating element by which the handle and tool are in active connection with one another and where each jaw member of the tool consists of an inner cheek and an outer cheek, which are connected with one another on the distal end of each jaw member and are distanced from one another in the proximal direction, and at least one connecting brace is positioned between the inner cheek and the outer cheek. The inner cheek and the outer cheek of each jaw member is configured differently with respect to the shape of their cross-section, with the inner cheek configured as wider than the outer cheek and with the inner cheek of each jaw member having rounded or stepped configuration.

A protective tube is provided for use in sterilizing flexible endoscopes in a vacuum method. Such flexible endoscopes comprise a flexible sleeve at a distal end portion. The diameter of the protective tube is selected such that the tube can be slipped onto and fit onto the distal end portion. The length of the tube is selected such that it at least covers the end portion with the flexible sleeve. In addition, the structure of the tube is selected such that the flexible sleeve is protected against swelling under vacuum conditions, at the same time however the sterilizing agent reaches between the outside of the sleeve and the applied protective tube.
