A static gas flowmeter for sensing a flow of gas includes an outer housing, a flow tube coupled to an outlet or an inlet, ≥1 sensor positioned for sensing gas flowing through the flow tube, and a controller including a memory including a flow calibration and flow measurement algorithm coupled to a sensor receiving a sensing signal. An integrated gas valve is connected to the inlet or outlet and/or there is an additional external valve positioned outside the housing coupled to the inlet to provide the gas flowmeter at least two state operation. Using the valve(s), the flow calibration algorithm triggers a zero-flow condition, then obtains a measured gas flow, and from the measured gas flow a flow offset is determined. If the flow offset is outside a predetermined limit, in-line calibrating is performed by adding the flow offset reflected as a correction factor to the flow measurement algorithm.

The invention under consideration refers to a controller for a primary-side regulated control power supply unit for the regulation of the output of the primary regulated control power supply unit. The invention also concerns a method for the operation of a control power supply unit of the generic type and a pertinent control power supply unit. The controller comprises a control output (B), which can be connected with the control input of a primary-side switch (Q) of the control power supply unit; a voltage measurement input (U), which can be connected with a primary-side auxiliary winding (L) of a transformer () for the sensing of an auxiliary voltage, which is induced as a function of the secondary-side output voltage; a sample-and-hold element (SuH, SuH) for the sensing of the auxiliary voltage; and an error amplifier () for a comparison of the sensed auxiliary voltage with a reference value (Vref) and for the amplification of the deviation between the sensed auxiliary voltage and the reference value. The controller (IC) also has a return branch for the return of the output signal of the error amplifier () to the voltage measurement input (U).

The present invention relates to a battery charger for charging a battery. The present invention especially relates to a battery charger comprising a switching power supply controlled on the primary side and a charge monitoring circuit for monitoring the charge state of the battery. For providing an improved battery charger which allows a secure and reliable charging of batteries with a reduction of the circuit complexity, the costs for appliances and the construction size, the charge monitoring circuit is&#x2014;according to the invention&#x2014;disposed in the switching circuit on the primary side of the battery charger.
