For the monitoring of the application of a vacuum to the finished moulds () of a glass moulding machine, in particular of an I. S. machine, an arrangement is proposed which is composed of a vacuum sensor (), which vacuum sensor is arranged in a vacuum line () which charges the finished mould () and which vacuum sensor is designed for pressure measurement and detects a pressure value, which pressure value is transmitted by way of a microcontroller () of an I. S. machine controller () by way of which, in a manner dependent on the measured value, a hollow glass article can be identified as being defective and rejected. The arrangement permits automated monitoring of the vacuum operation and a lessening of the burden on operating personnel, and serves for the automated assurance of product quality.

A mold and neck ring cooling system for a glass molding machine is characterized by a cooling air guide, in which separate and in particular independently switchable air guides for a neck ring cooling section- and a mold cooling section are provided. Here, a cooling piece serving the cooling air feed in the mold is connected to a station box via a cooling channel which is articulated on both sides and slidably connected on one side for length compensation, wherein the height position of the cooling piece is constant relative to the station box. A cooling structure intended for the neck ring cooling section is adjustable in its height in relation to the station box by means of a drive. All valves and bearing points are arranged protected against an environmental influence of a glassworks containing abrasive substances.

Mold and finish cooling arrangement for a glass molding machine

In a method for controlling the process parameters of a machine for producing hollow glass articles, the shape of the produced hollow glass article is measured online by means of at least one camera immediately after its shaping. Deviations from a reference shape are detected, and these deviations are used as the basis of the control. The control is a storage medium that contains a mechanical model describing the functional correlation between a certain pattern of a deformation of the hollow glass article and an adjustment of process parameters. An intervention in the adjustments of process parameters is carried out in accordance with the type of deformation detected.
