An insulating switching rod has a drive element for initiating a drive movement in an electrical contact system of a switching device and for producing a contact force when the contact system is in the closed state. The system further includes a clamping apparatus for the drive element of the switching rod in order to maintain the contact force. The object is to produce a greater contact force with a compact design and ensure constant spring characteristics as well as low wear over the entire useful life. For that purpose, the switching rod and the drive element can be directly or indirectly connected to one another by way of a plug and latching connection.

Insulating switching rod

A Rogowski sensor is provided for measuring a current of an electrical conductor. The sensor has a Rogowski coil, which has an electrical winding resistor, and an integration device which is connected to the Rogowski coil and is intended to generate an output signal which is proportional to the electrical current to be measured by the Rogowski sensor. The integration device is formed by the winding resistor of the Rogowski coil and a capacitance which is connected to the two winding connections of the Rogowski coil, and for the output signal from the integration device to be formed by the voltage applied to the capacitance.

An electrical current limiting device has a superconductive switching element. Unlike prior art superconductive current limiters whose switching mechanism is based on a quenching of the switching element, the inventive superconductive switching element is designed in such a manner that it is in the Shubnikov phase when the required short-circuit cutoff current is reached in the event current is limited. This enables the switching element to be operated in an operating state in which the generation of heat is limited to such an extent that the coolant surrounding the superconductor is able to completely dissipate the heat whereby achieving a stationary state at T. A quenching of the superconductor, which is associated with an exceeding of T, can thus be actively prevented so that, after an event in which current is limited, the superconductor is not required to be removed from the mains and recooled.

Current-limiting device having a superconductive switching element

A drive unit is described for switching circuit breakers on and off, in particular disconnecting switches and/or grounding switches of medium-voltage switchgear. The drive unit includes a reversible d.c. motor and a switching device containing two separately drivable and interlocked reversing switches, one assigned to each direction of rotation of the d.c. motor, their contacts performing the current reversal on the windings of the d.c. motor as required to reverse the direction of rotation. The drive unit further includes power contactors whose contacts have the required switching capacity for load switching. The all-or-nothing relays and safety switches are implemented by uniform low-power relays representing the direction of rotation, each having at least two electrically isolated relay contacts connected in parallel and also having an equalizing capacitor connected in parallel to each. Such drive units are used in connection with switchgear for power transmission and distribution.

To improve the mechanical properties of a contact unit of a vacuum relay, a spring element is integrated into the contact unit. The contact unit comprises an armature, a mounting support for an insulating carrier, the insulating carrier and a switching contact. The mounting support comprises a flat bar spring such that the contact unit has an integrated spring element.

To improve the high voltage strength of conductor bushings on an insulating housing structure, the outer surface of the housing structure is depressed all around the bushing aperture and is provided with a metallization within this depressed region. The conductor which is passed through is preferably fixed into position with a holding element, which consists of a tapered tubular piece having an annular base resting on the depressed surface and a collar-type neckpiece contacting the lead contact wire.
