A switch-extender is connected to a measurement system and to several DUTs. It splits a signal from the measurement system into several signals so that the several DUTs receive the same signal and can therefore be tested in parallel. The switch-extender further includes at least one amplifier and/or at least one attenuator for every output port so that every signal has the same signal level no matter what the individual attenuation factor of the signal connectors or of the internal printed circuit board is. Furthermore a method for calibrating the measurement system as well as for the switch-extender and the signal connectors describes how to obtain the needed calibration values both for the downlink path and for the uplink path without changing the signal connector.

Switch-extender and a method for calibrating

The invention is related to a smart testing apparatus and preferably a method for testing at least a first DUT and a second DUT using a mobile communications testing device. The method comprises the steps of determining, whether a first RF test signal from/to the first DUT interferes with a second RF test signal from/to the second DUT. It determines, whether the second RF test signal from/to second DUT interferes with the first RF test signal from/to the first DUT. It predetermines, whether at least measuring the first measuring result obtained by applying the first RF test signal is disturbed above a first disturbance threshold value. It predetermines, whether at least a second measuring result obtained by applying the second RF test signal is disturbed above a second disturbance threshold value.

Smart testing management

A measuring system comprises a timing unit and at least two signal generators. The signal generators are each configured to generate a measuring signal and to supply it to a device under test. The timing unit is configured to generate start time signals, which each indicate an allowed start time of the measuring signals. Said signal generators are configured to only start generating the measuring signals at least instances of start time signals.

The present invention relates to a calibration method and a calibration arrangement for a RF test apparatus for testing a RF device under test. Instead, a calibration board is provided and connected to each of the cables of the RF test apparatus. A calibration board is configured to provide a plurality of connection loops by connecting the input/output channel terminals of the test apparatus one after the other with each other. This results to a bunch of different connection loops. Then a physical parameter, such as the attenuation over frequency, is measured for each of these connection loops. Since each physical parameter can be described by a single equation, this results to an amount of different equations which form an equation system. The idea underlying the present invention is that the amount of equations of this equation system, which amount corresponds to the different connection loops, is at least equal or higher than the amount of unknown parameters of the equation system. Consequently, the equation system is overdetermined and&#x2014;as a consequence of that&#x2014;mathematically solvable.

A testing front end module for testing a plurality of devices under test (DUT) includes a testing signal interface, a vector signal generator (VSG) coupled to the testing signal interface and configured to generate testing signals upon reception of testing routine signals from a remote controller via the testing signal interface, a vector signal analyzer (VSA) coupled to the testing signal interface and configured to receive testing response signals from a plurality of DUTs and to transmit the received testing response signals to the remote controller via the testing signal interface, a multiplexer/demultiplexer (MUX/DEMUX) coupled to the VSG and the VSA, the MUX/DEMUX being configured to multiplex the received testing response signals and to demultiplex the generated testing signals, and a test device interface coupled to the MUX/DEMUX and configured to couple the testing front end module to the plurality of DUTs.

A measuring device comprises at least one port, an external cable connected to the at least one port, a transmitter connected to the at least one port through a switch, a receiver connected to the at least one port through the switch and a reference path connecting the transmitter with the receiver through the switch. The cable is connected to calibration elements, e.g., short and open. The switch alternately switch in a manner that in a first state the transmitter and the receiver are connected to the at least one port and that in a second state the transmitter and the receiver are connected via the reference path.
