A structure for delivering power is described. In some embodiments, the structure can include conductors disposed on two or more layers. Specifically, the structure can include a first set of interdigitated conductors disposed on a first layer and oriented substantially along an expected direction of current flow. At least one conductor in the first set of interdigitated conductors may be maintained at a first voltage, and at least one conductor in the first set of interdigitated conductors may be maintained at a second voltage, wherein the second voltage is different from the first voltage. The structure may further include a conducting structure disposed on a second layer, wherein the second layer is different from the first layer, and wherein at least one conductor in the conducting structure is maintained at the first voltage.

Structure for delivering power

Power management systems are described. In an embodiment, a power management system includes a voltage source, a circuit load located within a chip, and a switched capacitor voltage regulator (SCVR) coupled to voltage source and the circuit load to receive an input voltage from the voltage source and supply an output voltage to the circuit load. The SCVR may include circuitry located within the chip and a discrete integrated passive device (IPD) connected to the chip.

A first and second set of simulation information of a circuit design may be received. Energy consumption values associated with signals may be calculated for each of the first and second sets of simulation information of the circuit design. The energy consumption values associated with the transitions of the plurality of signals for each time point of a plurality of time points may be aggregated based on when each of the transitions of the signals occurs for each of the first and second sets of simulation information. Furthermore, a possible Differential Power Analysis (DPA) leak may be identified at one of the time points based on a difference in aggregated energy consumption values between the first and second sets of simulation information.

A memory system includes a two memory modules and a memory controller. The memory modules each include at least a first memory package corresponding to a first number of memory ranks (e.g. one memory rank) and a second memory package corresponding to a second number of memory ranks (e.g. two memory ranks) that is greater than the first number of memory ranks. For each module, the memory packages may be asymmetrically staggered such that one memory package is further from the memory controller than the other memory package. The memory controller is coupled to the memory packages of both modules via a common data line and generates control information for controlling the on-die termination (ODT) of the memory packages.

Systems and methods for reducing electrical noise generated during bus turnaround in signal transfer systems are provided. These systems include differential drivers having current sources continuously coupled to a signal bus during all operating modes of the drivers. A first transistor of the driver couples a first signal line of the bus to the driver current source and a second transistor of the driver couples a second signal line of the bus to the driver current source. Each transistor receives control signals in accordance with the operating mode of the driver. These control signals continuously and selectively couple the current source to the bus lines in a manner which provides uniform current distribution across the bus during all driver operating modes. The uniform current distribution across the bus minimizes interruptions in driver current dissipation and any effects from self-induced supply noise during signal transfers.
