A process for controlling a respirator with reduced gas excess, wherein a load situation () of an expiration valve is polled in a continuous sequence and a flow value () is reduced step by step from a preset starting flow value () and wherein the flow value () is again increased when a predetermined value () is exceeded.

Process for operating a respirator

A gas-mixing device for respirators can be used both in stationary operation and in mobile operation. The gas-mixing device has a storage tank (), into which compressed air and oxygen can be introduced by dispensing valves (). In addition, a blower (), which draws in gas from the environment (), is connected to the storage tank (). To dispense gas from the pressurized gas sources () by means of the dispensing valves (), a first operating pressure level is set in the storage tank (). When changing over to the blower operation, the operating pressure level is lowered to a pressure level adapted to the maximum respiration pressure.

Gas-mixing device for respirators

An electrodynamic drive of a compact design is provided, particularly for a respiration system dispensing valve. The electrodynamic drive has a velocity measuring system that is uncoupled from the electrodynamic drive. The velocity measuring system is provided directly above a moving coil system, wherein the velocity measuring system has a short-circuit sleeve () for forming a separate magnetic circuit ().

A process, system and device are provided for automatically recording pressure-vs.-volume curves during artificial respiration with a respirator. The inspiration pressure is increased during the supply of a breathing gas volume flow under the control of a control unit. The resulting breathing gas volume flow rate is detected and the volume is determined from the latter by integration. The control unit compares the breathing gas volume flow detected during the phase of expiration with a preselected set point and acts on an expiration valve () in the expiration line () by means of a controller in case of deviation from the set point in order to return the breathing gas volume flow to the set point.

Process for the automatic recording of pressure-vs.-volume curves during artificial respiration

A valve arrangement is provided with a very short minimum valve adjustment time. This is especially suitable for use in respirators or anesthesia apparatuses for metering gases for respirated patients. It has a valve ( ) with a seat ( ) and with a valve closing part ( ) for adjusting the gas flow rate, an inflow line ( ) and a discharge line ( ) as well as a drive system ( ) for controlling the position of the valve closing part ( ) relative to the seat ( ). A gas flow rate measuring transducer ( ) and a control unit ( ) are provided for controlling the drive system ( ) by means of a control signal. A velocity measuring transducer ( ) for measuring the velocity of the valve closing means ( ) relative to the seat ( ) is present to provide an output signal used to calculate the control signal ( ) for the drive system ( ).
