A power supply for a photomultiplier is provided, the power supply including: a charge pump configured to generate a first high voltage for the photomultiplier; a DC/DC converter configured to generate a second high voltage for the charge pump; a first control loop configured to control the charge pump and/or the DC/DC converter, the first control loop being controlled by the first high voltage; and a second control circuit configured to control the DC/DC converter, the second control circuit being controlled by the second high voltage. A radiometric measuring device for measuring a filling level and/or a limit level of a product in a container is also provided. A method of supplying power to the photomultiplier is also provided.

A radiometric density profile measuring arrangement for determining a density profile of a bulk material located in a container comprising a multitude of radiation sources and a detection unit for detecting radioactive radiation with a scintillator to generate radiation-induced light flashes, a photosensitive element for generating an electrical signal based on said light flashes, and measuring electronics for processing the electrical signal, with the scintillator being embodied in an oblong fashion.

Radiometric density profile measuring arrangement

Described is diagnosing radiometric detectors. The pulse amplitudes of the pulses acquired by the radiometric detector can be measured and stored temporarily. The pulse amplitude distribution determined in this manner is compared to a reference amplitude distribution, whereby error diagnosis and, if applicable, recalibration of the measuring device are made possible. In this manner temperature drifts and damage to the scintillator, EMC radiation and an increased rate of dark pulses of the photosensitive component may be detected and corrected.

A two-wire sensor () is attached to one pole of a voltage distribution source (U) by an initial connecting line (V) in which a current-limiting resistor (R) is positioned and is attached to the other pole by a second connecting line (V). Parallel to the series connection consisting of the two-wire sensor (S) and the current-limiting resistor (R) is at least one limiting diode (D). A current regulator (SR) which is attached to the poles of the power source (U) regulates a parallel current (I) which runs parallel to the current through the two-wire sensor (D), so that there is a sum current at the poles of the power source (U) that always corresponds to the measured value delivered by the two-wire sensor (S). The regulating inputs of the current regulator (SR) are connected to the terminals of a current-sensing resistor (R) positioned in a connecting line (V). When a HART&#xae;-interface is used with the two-wire sensor (S) a HART&#xae;-resistor (RH) is positioned in one of the two connecting lines (V).

A two-wire sensor (S) is connected to a pole via a first connection line (V ) in which a voltage longitudinal controller (SR) and a current-limiting resistor (R ) are positioned, and via a second connection line (V ) to which the other pole of a power supply source is connected. The output of the voltage longitudinal controller (SR) is connected to the second connection line (V ) via a first limiting diode (D ) and a second limiting diode (D ) which preferably is installed opposite the first connected diode. The joint node of the two limiting diodes (D D ) is connected to the control input of the voltage longitudinal controller (SR).
