Disclosed is a process of making silicone-in-water emulsion, compositions including a silicone-in-water emulsion and use of the compositions as an additive in paint and coating formulations, printing ink compositions, personal care products, textiles, leather and indirect food contact applications. The process includes contacting a silicone with an organic non-polar solvent, adding an anionic surfactant, and further adding water under shear, to obtain a silicone-in-water emulsion; and removing the non-polar solvent, wherein the silicone-in-water emulsion has a particle size distribution Dv50 in the range from ≥0.1 μm to ≤25 μm, determined according to dynamic light scattering technique with a fixed scattering angle of 90°.

The composition provides better slip and mar resistance, anti-blocking properties and optical properties to the coating formulations, printing ink, personal care product compositions, textiles, leather and indirect food contact applications.

The invention relates to a process for preparing oligo- or polyalkylene ether-modified polysiloxanes by transesterification of alkoxy-functionalized polysiloxanes with OH&#x2014; terminated oligo- or polyalkylene ethers in the presence of the tetra-n-C-C-alkoxy-titanate as catalyst. Oligo- or polyalkylene ether-modified polydimethylsiloxanes obtainable through this process are suitable as defoamers, as wetting agents, and as additives in coating material formulations.

Process for preparing polyalkylene ether-modified polysiloxanes and use thereof

The invention relates to a process for preparing oligo- or polyalkylene ether-modified polysiloxanes by transesterification of alkoxy-functionalized polysiloxanes with OH-terminated oligo- or polyalkylene ethers in the presence of an alkanesulfonic acid as catalyst. Oligo- or polyalkylene ether-modified polydimethylsiloxanes obtainable through this process are suitable as defoamers, as wetting agents, and as additives in coating material formulations.

Disclosed are potassium cesium tungsten bronze solid solution particles of the formula KCsWO, where x+y&#x2266;1 and 2&#x2266;z&#x2266;3. The particles are for instance micron or nano scaled particles. Also disclosed are organic or inorganic compositions comprising an organic or inorganic substrate and incorporated therein the present potassium cesium tungsten bronze solid solution particles. The substrates are for instance plastics, coatings, inks, adhesives, ceramics or glass. Also disclosed is a method for the preparation of the present potassium cesium tungsten bronze solid solution particles, which method comprises mixing a suitable tungsten source with a salt of potassium and a salt of cesium to form a powder mixture and exposing the powder mixture to a plasma torch under a reducing atmosphere. The present tungsten bronze particles are suitable NIR absorbers and heat shielding additives.
