A calibration device for calibrating an antenna array is provided. The calibration device comprises a transmitter, which is configured for transmitting a first calibration signal to all antennas of the antenna array, resulting in a plurality of received first calibration signals provided by the antenna array to the calibration device. Moreover, the calibration device comprises a receiver, which is configured for receiving a plurality of second calibration signals from the antennas of the antenna array. Finally, the calibration device comprises an antenna characteristic calculator, which is configured for calculating an antenna characteristic of each individual antenna of the antenna array based on the plurality of received first calibration signals and the plurality of received second calibration signals.

Calibration device and calibration method for calibrating antenna arrays

A test coupler for supplying a device under test with test signals contains a first coaxial connector, a waveguide port, and a first strip conductor. Test signals of a lower frequency range are supplied to the first coaxial connector. Test signals of an upper frequency range are supplied to the waveguide port. The test coupler guides the test signals on the first strip conductor to the device under test.

Measuring coupler using strip conductor technology

A coupler comprises a first line and a second line in each case with two connectors. The lines run in spatial proximity and are coupled. A first connector of the first line and a first connector of the second line are disposed in spatial proximity. A second connector of the first line and a second connector of the second line are disposed in spatial proximity. A signal does not couple or couples only with a high attenuation from the first connector of the first line to the first connector of the second line. The signal is split, in particular, at the design frequency, into largely identical parts to the second connector of the first line and the second connector of the second line. The first line and the second line in this context are strip conductors.

Forward coupler with strip conductors

In a directional coupler with two coupled lines arranged in a flat chamber of an enclosed metal housing within the coupling region side-by-side in the longitudinal direction and at a spacing distance from one another, of which the ends are connected to connecting ports attached at the sides of the metal housing, these coupled lines include flat, sheet-metal strip conductors, which are arranged within the coupling region with their broad sides facing towards one another side-by-side at a spacing distance and held by several support elements made of insulating material in a cantilever manner at a spacing distance from the opposing internal walls of the flat metal-housing chamber within the latter. In this context, at least one strip conductor is curved relative to the opposing strip conductor in such a manner that the spacing distance of the strip conductors in coupling region increases starting from the beginning of the coupling region approximately exponentially up to the end of the coupling region. The width of the two strip conductors increases within the coupling region.

Directional coupler

The directional coupler () in coplanar waveguide technology comprises at least one first directional coupler unit () with a first connection () for feeding in or guiding out a wave, a second connection () for feeding in or guiding out a wave supplied directly from or to the first connection (), a coupled connection () for coupling a fraction of a feeded wave at connection ()and a termination (). The first connection () is connected to the second connection () via a first center conductor (). The coupled connection () is connected to the termination () via a second center conductor (). The center conductors () are bordered on the outside by ground conductors (). The spacing between the center conductor () and its adjacent ground conductor () and/or between the center conductor () and its adjacent ground conductor () and the spacing between the two center conductors () as well as the width of the conductor track of the two center conductors () change along the longitudinal extension of the center conductors ().
