The invention relates to an electrochemical cell unit for storing electrical energy, in which the electrochemical cell unit includes at least two lithium-ion pouch cells, a planar element for orienting the at least two lithium-ion pouch cells, and a cell carrier. The at least two lithium-ion pouch cells are provided in the cell carrier and are in electrical contact. The at least two lithium-ion pouch cells also have a first and a second terminal lug. The planar element is provided, preferably centrally, in the cell carrier and in addition, is sandwiched between the at least two lithium-ion pouch cells, at least some portions of the planar element being in contact with the pouch cells.

Cell unit, energy storage module and method for the assembly thereof

Disclosed is an energy storage system, in particular for use in a vehicle, preferably for use in a hybrid vehicle, wherein the energy storage system has the following: a multiplicity of lithium ion cells, a housing with an interior space for receiving the lithium-ion cells and having an opening and a cover device. A barrier layer is provided, at least in certain areas, between the interior of the housing and the inner faces of the housing which bound the interior. In this context, the cover device can be or is connected to the housing in such a way that the opening of the housing is or can be closed, specifically in such a way that the cover device forms, at least in certain areas, an outer face of the housing which is closed in this way. The cover device is preferably embodied as a cooling device for regulating the temperature of the energy storage system.

An energy storage module comprising a plurality of electrochemical cells for storing electric energy and comprising at least one contacting device for electrically contacting the plurality of electrochemical cells. Each of the electrochemical cells has a first flat connection lug for contacting a first electrode of the respective electrochemical cell and a second flat connection lug for contacting a second electrode of the respective electrochemical cell. The electrochemical cells are arranged in a stacked formation and form a cell pack such that the first and second flat connection lugs extend outwards from two opposing sides of the cell pack in an at least substantially perpendicular manner. According to the invention, the at least one contacting device is substantially comb-shaped in particular and has a plurality of teeth which are formed and arranged such that a first or second connection lug is or can be received between two adjacent teeth.

The invention relates to an energy storage module. The energy storage module includes a plurality of energy storage cells, where each of the plurality of energy storage cells is connected electrically. The energy storage module further includes a housing having a portion that receives the plurality of energy storage cells, a measurement line integrated into the housing, and a barrier layer arranged between the housing and the plurality of energy storage cells. The barrier layer is at least in the portion of the housing and is impermeable to gases and liquids. A lithium ion (Li-ion) battery module includes a module terminal configured to electrically couple the Li-ion battery module to an electrical connector of an external load. The module terminal includes a conductive component and a sealing shim secured to the conductive component, the sealing shim being formed from a polymeric material. The Li-ion battery module includes a housing containing a plurality of Li-ion battery cells and having an opening through which the conductive component of the module terminal at least partially protrudes. The sealing shim of the module terminal is directly secured to the housing and forms a seal isolating an interior of the housing from the external environment.
