A sensor system that simultaneously detects the positions of multiple movable carriages along a motion path. The sensor system includes a plurality of sensors arranged at least along a subsection of the motion path, wherein each sensor is designed for a contactless detection of a measuring element provided on each movable carriage. An electrodynamic direct drive includes an armature that travels within a housing and a drive system for moving armature in relation to housing. The drive system has two drive means, that are moved in relation to each other in the form of a coil system with at least one coil and a magnet system with at least one permanent magnet to move a load driver coupled with the armature. A displacement measurement space is defined by an end face of the armature and walls of the housing and/or the surface of the internally placed drive means. A sensor detects position of the armature within the housing by electromagnetic waves. The distance of the armature from the sensor is measured on the basis of the transit time of electromagnetic waves.

Electrodynamic linear direct drive and method for producing a coil system therefor

A direct electrodynamic linear drive comprising a drive coil system composed of coils arranged in a row alongside each other on an elongated ferromagnetic core, which coil is able to be supplied with a switched exciting voltage. The drive coil system has a ferromagnetic tube fitting around it, on whose inner side a plurality of permanent magnets are arranged in a row in the longitudinal direction of the tube. The core provided with the drive coil system is adapted to function as a stator and the tube having the permanent magnets as an armature. In this arrangement the ferromagnetic tube serves as a guide tube, as a magnetic return member and as a holder means for the permanent magnets, the possibility of a simple and accurate longitudinal guiding of the tube meaning that elongated units with a small cross section may be manufactured.

Linear drive

A set of independently usable linear drive, which include at least one fluid power and at least one electrical linear drive. The principal housing bodies of the linear drive are respectively provided with an elongated receiving space, in which fluid power drive means or electrical drive means are located dependent of the type of drive. As regards their outer shape the principal housing bodies at least essentially the same and their receiving spaces possesses the same cross sectional form. An electromagnetic drive system having an integrated position signal generation for use by the drive windings for the movement and power generation and as a measuring system for determining the position of the movable partial system of the drive with respect to the stationary system, so that separate measuring systems are generated. The drive system including a stationary drive coil system of a direct current linear motor, having at least two identical partial coils which are serially connected with each other induced with a pulse length modulated control signal with a constant pulse frequency and a constant circuit voltage. For the position measurement, the impedance change in the partial coils of the coil system is picked up in accordance with the principle of an inductive voltage splitter by establishing the slopes of the electric voltage paths on the partial coils at a constant point in time after switching over the pulse length modulated control signal. By using the corresponding drive circuit for position sensing, this arrangement permits the structure of very compact positioning systems without any additional measuring systems.
