The invention relates to a method of connecting of strips to an endless strip with a clamping arrangement () with a clamping device (-r,-r) on the inlet side and a clamping device (--) on the outlet side, a cutting arrangement () with an upper cutter () and a lower cutter () and with a joining arrangement, wherein in a first step the clamping devices are opened and two strip ends are introduced, and in a subsequent step in the next step the strip ends are introduced, and in a subsequent step in the next step the strip ends are cut by means of the cutting arrangement, before they are moved into a joining position and are joined there.

Method of connecting strips

Apparatus for the connection of strips

The invention relates to a method for straightening a metal strip () which is guided in the direction of transportation (R) through a straightening machine () and is straightened. In the straightening device (), the metal strip () is impinged upon by a straightening force (F) which is applied by a plurality of straightening rollers () in the direction (N) which is perpendicular to the surface of the metal strip (). According to the invention, prior to the metal strip () entering into the straightening machine (), the thickness (d) of the metal strip () is determined and the position (a) of the straightening rollers () in the direction (N) which is perpendicular to the surface of the metal strip () is taken into account according to the determined thickness (d).

Method for straightening a metal strip and straightening machine

A horizontal strip accumulator for metal strip includes a looper car which is moveable along a travel path at at least one swivel gate which is moveable, when the looper car is moved, by the looper car between a starting position and an end position. For moving the swivel gate, the looper car acts on an actuating element which is connected with the swivel gate through a four-gear mechanism with two swivels. The swivel gate is rotatably arranged on one swivel and the actuating element is rotatably arranged on the other swivel. The actuating element has spoke-shaped projections and the looper car has counter projections which engage between the spoke-shaped projections.

A vertical strip storage system has a support structure and a storage car connected to the support structure by cables in the fashion of a pulley block so as to be lifted and lowered relative to the support structure. The storage car is provided with a counterweight and with deflection pulleys which deflect and guide an incoming and/or outgoing strip in cooperation with stationary deflection pulleys on the ground. The support structure is a free-standing column without lateral supports and the storage car is a salient vehicle running on the outer surface of the column, wherein the column has an interior and the counterweight is guided in the interior of the column.

The shearing machine further includes a center cut shear with rotary blade shafts which support the rotary blades and are mounted in an upper blade housing and lower blade housing, a frame supporting the center cut shear, and a blade gap adjusting device with a reversible transverse eccentric, wherein the blade gap adjusting device is mounted between the frame and the upper rotary blade of the center cut shear and acts with its transverse eccentric on the end of the movably constructed upper blade housing at the side of the blade.
