The present invention relates to a brake force transmission device for a brake force booster with an elastic reaction element, and input member with an associated effective surface, an output member with an associated effective surface, and a first transmission ratio that is defined by a ratio of the effective surfaces being in operative engagement with the reaction element. An object of the present invention is to provide means of a simple design, if possible arranged in the form of an assembly, giving the operator of an automotive vehicle increased support when high braking forces are required. The essence of the invention is the provision of means which starting from a determined pressure prevailing in the reaction element will reduce the reaction force introduced into the input member by a defined amount. The driver is thus given additional support, requiring a proportionately reduced increase in input force for a further increase in output force. It is thus possible for the driver to better proportion the necessarily higher brake forces after the abrupt increase in the ratio of the amplification.

The present invention relates to a reaction force transmission mechanism for a pneumatic brake booster including a largely incompressible reaction plate that is interposed between an input member and an output member and encased at the peripheral side and has lateral abutment surfaces for the input member and the output member, wherein the abutment surface close to the input member can be acted upon by a pressure member which is adapted to be fixed to a control housing and, consequently, can be excepted from the transmission of the reaction force to a vehicle driver. To improve its service life, the reaction plate includes a recess in the area of the abutment of a valve piston extension, in which recess a substantially incompressible, elastic insert is placed.

The present invention relates to a vacuum brake force booster which includes a valve piston with a pedal push rod that is axially slidable in a vacuum housing, further including a control housing and a poppet valve connected to the valve piston, and an air filter. The air filter is arranged in the valve piston and forms, in conjunction with an associated valve piston sealing seat for the air filter abuttable thereon, a variable flow cross-section for the outside air that flows through the poppet valve.

The present invention relates to a brake force booster with a panic braking function for automotive vehicles. The present invention includes that the first sealing seat arranged movably in relation to the control housing wherein the sealing seat is fixed to a lever such that when a predetermined relative displacement between valve piston and control housing is exceeded so that the lever prevents at least a movement of the sealing seat in the actuating direction. The brake force booster with a brake assist function is easy to manufacture and, in addition, ensures a controllability of the brake force in the emergency braking position.

The present invention relates to a brake-power transmission device, especially for motor vehicles, including an actuated input member, an output member to exert a boosting force, especially on a main brake cylinder, and a control valve arranged in a control housing to regulate the boosting force. An axially movable pressure piece is provided in the area of a reaction member. The pressure piece is supported on the input member or the control housing, thereby permitting changes to be made in the power transmission ratio. There is a general need to provide a brake-power transmission device that enables increased boosting only when required and that allows for mechanical sensing of the brake actuation speed so that immediate maximum boost force can be exerted when required without any time delay. According to the present invention this is achieved by detachably connecting the pressure element to the control housing by way of a coupling element in order to increase boosting on the basis of a relative movement between the input member and the control housing.

The brake force booster with panic brake function includes a control valve, which is arranged in a control housing and operable by way of an input member, for controlling the boosting pressure in a working chamber, the said control valve including an atmosphere sealing seat on a valve piston and a vacuum sealing seat which is arranged on a sliding sleeve that is axially slidably mounted in the control housing. In the event of a panic braking, a quick depression of the brake pedal causes advance movement of the valve piston connected to the input member in relation to the control housing and the sliding sleeve, whereby opening of the atmosphere sealing seat is initiated and a clutch device is actuated which leads to supporting the sliding sleeve in the brake actuation direction on the elastically deformable reaction member, to which latter both the mechanically generated brake force and the pneumatic boosting force is applied. The clutch device is released by withdrawal of the input member. The sliding sleeve is supported on the reaction member by way of a member, by way of which also the mechanical brake force is transmitted to the reaction member.

A vacuum brake power booster for automotive vehicles includes a booster housing whose interior is subdivided into a vacuum chamber and a working chamber by a moveable wall. A control housing carries the moveable wall and accommodates a control valve which controls a pressure differential acting upon the moveable wall. The control valve has at least two sealing seats cooperating with an elastic valve member and is operable by an actuating rod. One of the sealing seats is operable, irrespective of the actuating rod, by an electromagnet whose armature is in force-transmitting interaction with one of the sealing seats. An electrical switching apparatus is also included, the control signals of which influence the current supply of the electromagnet thereby enabling its deactivation. The switching apparatus are operable by a relative movement between a valve piston and the control housing.

The plastic bushing is arranged to allow it to be screwed in by means of a thread portion (4) which is located in the housing. A rear brake pressure proportioning control device is disclosed, with a regulating piston (7) and with a valve closing member (9) being supported within a slidable control piston (8), the movement of the control piston interrupted at a predetermined rate of vehicle deceleration. A restriction (32) between the inlet and inlet chamber within which the control piston is disposed prevents a high rate of brake pressure increase from causing too high a rear brake pressure. A multiple-stage restrictor (26) is positioned in the inlet in order to prevent a very high rate of pressure increase of the brake pressure resulting in too low a rear brake pressure.

A pressure control unit, in particular for pressure-fluid-actuatable dual-circuit brake systems of automotive vehicles, comprises a housing, a regulating device connected between an inlet and an outlet of a first brake circuit and actuated by an element applicable by a control force. A by-pass for bypassing the regulating device which is controlled by a locking piston acted upon by a second brake circuit. In order to accomplish a small overall length, low-priced manufacture and great functional reliability, the locking piston does not act directly on the regulating device.
