The invention relates to a polyamide moulding compound consisting of an amorphous, microcrystalline or partially crystalline polyamide or mixtures hereof, at least one impact modifier, hollow glass balls and also further additives. The invention likewise relates to moulded articles produced from this polyamide moulding compound.

Polyamide moulding compound and moulded articles producible therefrom

A transparent, amorphous polyamide molding compound contains polyamides which are formed by polycondensation of a linear aliphatic dicarboxylic acid with a cycloaliphatic diamine and also blends thereof, and also additives and/or colorants. The linear aliphatic dicarboxylic acid is selected from dicarboxylic acids with 17 to 21 C atoms and the diamine is bis(3-methyl-4-aminocyclohexyl)methane (MACM) and cross-linking additives, in the case of the additives, and photochromic colorants, in the case of the colorants, are precluded.

Transparent, amorphous polyamide moulding compounds and use thereof

The invention relates to polyamide molding material for the production of transparent or colorable moldings with high flexibility, high notched impact strength (Charpy), low water absorption and excellent chemical resistance, comprising at least one partly crystalline, transparent copolyamide (A) with a glass transition temperature (T) of at most 80&#xb0; C. and a melting temperature of at least 150&#xb0; C., and a heat of fusion of at least 20 J/g, where the glass transition temperature (T), the melting temperature (T) and the heat of fusion (HF) are determined according to ISO 11357-1/2, under conditions where the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is performed with a heating rate of 20 K/min, wherein the copolyamide (A) includes no aromatic dicarboxylic acids.

Polyamide moulding compounds for the production of unvarnished moulded articles with a high-gloss surface and outstandin toughness are provided. By means of moulded articles which are produced with very high surface quality from the moulding compounds, the complex, cost-intensive and frequently environmentally impacting varnishing processes can be avoided.

The present invention relates to polyamide moulding compounds which have very low distortion with good mechanical properties. This is achieved by a combination of transparent polyamide with fibrous reinforcing materials and also particulate fillers. The moulding compounds according to the invention are used for the production of any moulded articles, semi-finished products or finished products.

Polyamide moulding compound and use thereof

The invention relates to an optical filter which comprises at least one optically effective layer and a protective layer on both sides, with at least one of the protective layers being a non-stretched protective polyamide layer which is cast from the solution. The optical filter in accordance with the invention is characterized in that the at least one protective polyamide layer consists of PA MACMI/12 and optional aggregates chosen as required. The at least one protective polyamide layer has a content of laurolactam of 23 mole percent to 57 mole percent in relation to the entire polyamide.

Optical filter

The invention relates to a polyamide molding material or copolyamide molding material and the use of such a polyamide molding material or copolyamide molding material for producing steam-sterilizable transparent moldings and extrudates. This polyamide molding material is characterized in that it comprises at least one copolyamide formed from 35-42 mol % of bis(4-amino-3-methylcyclohexyl)methane (MACM), 35-42 mol % of isophthalic acid (IPS) and 16-30 mol % of laurolactam (LC12). MACM may be replaced up to 50% by bis(4-aminocyclohexyl)-methane (PACM) and IPA up to 50% by terephthalic acid (TPA). The polyamide molding material may also be a blend of copolyamides or a blend of copolyamides with polyamide 12. The relative viscosity (RV) of the polyamide molding material or copolyamide molding material is in any case adjusted to a value which is greater than 1.45. Steam-sterilizable and transparent standard specimens which are produced from such polyamide molding materials or copolyamide molding materials and whose composition corresponds to the transparent moldings and extrudates have a tensile strain at break which, after undergoing at least 140 and especially preferably at least 350 steam sterilization cycles, is above the stretching limit.

Polyamide molding compound and its use for producing transparent, hot-steam-sterilizable molded parts and extrudates

A polyamide molding composition is described, comprising at least one transparent polyesteramide in a proportion by weight of from 70 to 99.99% by weight; at least one further polymer in a proportion by weight of from 0 to 30% by weight; at least one photochromic dye in a proportion by weight of from 0.01 to 2% by weight; and also optionally further dyes and/or additives. The invention further encompasses articles manufactured therefrom, e.g. foils, for the coating of photochromic ophthalmic lenses, or the like.

Photochromic molding compositions and articles produced therefrom

The present invention relates to a plastic component having a visible part that is made in one single layer from a plastic molding compound and that comprises a transparent or translucent matrix, and having a light source that comprises one or more lamp elements, situated under the surface of the visible part. The visible part is implemented as essentially opaque in relation to daylight and transparent or translucent in relation to the light emitted by the lamp elements. The visible part also contains admixed effect pigments and defines a surface appearance image which, when the light source is inactive, essentially corresponds to the surface appearance image of the remaining wall of an object in which the plastic component is installed and which, when the light source is active, is essentially determined by the light source activity. The plastic component according to the invention is characterized in that the lamp elements are selected from a group which comprises light-emitting diodes, organic light-emitting diodes, and fiber-optic light systems, the lamp elements at least partially being embedded in the plastic molding compound of the visible part. The manifold uses of this plastic component comprise installation in vehicles, paneling elements, and furniture, as well as in housings of greatly varying devices.

Relates to the use of a thermoplastic polymer molding compound for producing metallically coated light-reflecting components based on thermoplastics, which are suitable for operating temperatures of at least 200&#xb0; C. The polymer molding compound used according to the present invention is characterized in that it comprises polyamides which are selected from a group which comprises homopolyamides, copolyamides, and mixtures (blends) made of homopolyamides and copolyamides and mixtures made of homopolyamides or copolyamides, these polyamides being selected from a group which comprises amorphous and transparent polyamides, and these polyamides having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 205&#xb0; C. Light-reflecting components produced according to the use according to the present invention are suitable for operating temperatures of at least 200&#xb0; C. and comprise reflectors for traveling lights of vehicles, for signal and lighting devices, and reflectors for solar collectors.

Metallically coated light-reflecting components based on thermoplastic molding compounds

The invention relates to a door drive system for a wing of a door, a window or similar, comprising a housing with a drive and/or return device, e.g. a closing spring ( ), and a preferably hydraulic damping device. In practice, drive housings of this type are cast in aluminium. The production costs are relatively high since housing openings and boreholes such as hydraulic channels have to be cut into the housing ( ) later on. According to the invention, the housing ( ) is produced wholly or partly from plastic. This enables the cavities which are necessary for the housing to function, such as housing boreholes and/or openings to be made in the drive housing when it is produced, without removing material by cutting. According to another design, the drive housing has several housing parts which are produced separately. The adjacent sections of the housing parts are then stuck or welded together. Housing boreholes such as hydraulic channels can be made in the adjacent surfaces of the housing parts which are shaped accordingly, without removing material by cutting.

The invention relates to the use of polyamide moulding compounds, their alloys or blends, which contain at least one homopolyamide, which has been obtained from long-chained aliphatic monomer blocks with cycloaliphatic monomer blocks, in order to manufacture moulded members for optical or electro-optical applications.
