A system including an automated test equipment (ATE) and an interface board. The interface board includes a temperature monitor that compares a sensor temperature to a predetermined temperature. The associated temperature sensor may be located near one or more selected components on the device under test or the interface board. If the sensor temperature exceeds the predetermined temperature the temperature monitor turns off one or more power supplies of the ATE.

ATE thermal overload detection and recovery techniques

A modular, portable device is used to measure or test components in optical networks. It contains a base module with base electronics, which features controls and a display device on the front; at least one function module, which is attached by means of a mechanical interface to the outside of the back of the base module, and contains a functional unit with measurement or test electronics, which work together with the base electronics through a functional interface, wherein the function module is detachably joined to the base module and, depending on the application, may be replaced with another function module with another functional unit.

Modular measuring or testing device

A device for measuring and/or testing of components of optical and/or electrical networks includes a casing and an optical and/or electrical connection jack attached to the casing, to which an optical and/or electrical lead can be connected directly or indirectly via an adapter, wherein a lift device is provided, with which the connection jack can be moved relative to the casing between a lifted position and a lowered position.
