It is provided a gas bag for an airbag module of a motor vehicle, comprising at least two gas bag parts, which via at least one seam are connected to each other to form a gas bag to be filled with gas, so that the resulting gas bag has an inner wall facing the interior of the gas bag and an outer wall facing away therefrom, and comprising a flame protection layer that is arranged within the gas bag and is connected to the gas bag such that the flame protection layer sectionally covers the gas bag for protection against gases. In the flame protection layer at least one incision is formed, by which a foldable partial section is produced in the flame protection layer, which can be folded over a seam by means of which the gas bag parts are connected to each other.

Gas bag for an airbag module of a motor vehicle

A method for producing an airbag package for an airbag module, which airbag package at least comprises an airbag and a protection covering surrounding the airbag is provided. The method using a first tool that comprises a recess for receiving the airbag package. The method comprising the steps of: covering the recess with an evenly outspread first protection covering part of the protection covering, folding the airbag, and inserting the folded airbag into the recess under interposition of the first protection covering part.

Method for producing an airbag package for an airbag module

An airbag arrangement for a vehicle occupant restraint system includes an inflatable airbag having at least one outflow opening through which gas can flow out of the airbag. The airbag arrangement also includes a stretchable element including a covering structure for adjustably covering a portion of the outflow opening. The covering structure moves relative to the outflow opening when the stretchable element is stretched. The airbag arrangement also includes a fastener for fastening the stretchable element to the airbag so the stretchable element stretches when the airbag inflates and the covering structure moves relative to the outflow opening changing the size of the covered portion of the outflow opening.

Airbag arrangement

An airbag module including a gas generator with at least one laterally projecting fastening portion; a generator support; an airbag with an inflation opening; a cover cap; and latching elements for connecting the generator support to the cover cap. The airbag has a plate proximate to the inflation opening, the plate including an opening for the gas generator. Latching elements are provided to hold the plate and the airbag connected thereto, and to hold the fastening portion of the gas generator situated between the generator support and the plate. The plate, at least in the region of these latching elements, is larger than the external dimensioning of the folded airbag in the region of the inflation opening.

Airbag module

An airbag module comprises a gas generator provided with an electrical connection and an airbag provided with a gas generator opening. The gas generator opening is used to introduce the gas from the gas generator into the airbag and can be sealed with at least one fabric element. The gas generator and the electrical connection are arranged in the region of the gas generator opening. The at least one fabric element is arranged and embodied in such a way that the gas generator opening is sealed by the at least one fabric element during and/or following the airbag deployment in the region of the gas generator and/or the on the electrical connection.
