A device for generating ozone from oxygen-containing gas by silent electric discharge, the device including an electrode arrangement having at least one high-voltage electrode and at least one annular ground electrode. An annular dielectric is arranged between the at least one high-voltage electrode and the at least one ground electrode. The at least one high-voltage electrode is surrounded by at least one annular heat pipe.

Ozone generator with heat pipe cooling

A device for generating ozone from oxygen-containing gas by silent electric discharge. At least two high-voltage electrodes and at least one ground electrode are nested. A discharge gap is defined between each high-voltage electrode and adjacent ground electrode. A dielectric is arranged in each discharge gap. In one embodiment, at least two discharge gaps are traversed by the gas, and a different voltage is applied to each gap according to the individual gap width. In another embodiment, filler material is arranged in an interstice between the high-voltage electrode and the corresponding dielectric, and the same amount of power is applied to each discharge gap.

Compact ozone generator with multi-gap electrode assembly

A method for controlling an ozone generator with a high-voltage electrode, at least one counter electrode, and a gap in which at least one dielectric is arranged and which is perfused by an oxygen-containing gas having a particle density n. The high-voltage electrode and the at least one counter electrode are provided with a connection for an electrical voltage supply for generating silent discharges in at least one discharge gap. Striking distances d of the discharge are distributed between a minimum striking distance dand a maximum striking distance d. For the generation of an ozone concentration &#x3e;12 wt. % ozone, the voltage amplitude Uof an AC voltage on the electrical voltage supply is selected so that U&#x3c;130*10V*m*n*d*(C+C)/C, with C=capacitance of the dielectric and C=capacitance of the discharge gap.

Method for controlling an ozone generator

An ozone generator with a high voltage electrode and at least one counter electrode which limit a gap in which at least one dielectric is arranged and which is flowed through by a gas flow in the direction of flow. The high voltage electrode and the at least one counter electrode are provided with a connection for an electrical power supply to generate silent discharges. A fabric is arranged in the gas flow. The fabric includes a material combination including at least one wire and at least one electrically non-conductive fiber.

Ozone generation with directly cooled plasma

An ozone generator with a high voltage electrode and at least one counter electrode which limit a gap in which at least one dielectric and an electrically non-conductive structure are arranged and through which a stream of gas flows in a direction of flow. The high voltage electrode and the at least one counter electrode are provided with a connection for an electrical voltage supply in order to generate silent discharges. The electrically non-conductive structure contains pores with a nominal pore size (x) of 100 &#x3bc;m&#x3c;x&#x3c;1 mm.

Ozone generation with directly cooled plasma channels

An ozone generator includes a high-voltage electrode and at least one counter electrode, which define an interstice in which at least one dielectric is arranged and through which a gas flows in the flow direction. The high-voltage electrode and the at least one counter electrode are provided with a connection for an electrical voltage supply to generate silent discharges which are discharged from surface discharge locations. The mean sparking distance and the mean spacing between the high-voltage electrode and the at least one counter-electrode are constant. The number of surface discharge locations decreases in the flow direction.

Ozone generator with position-dependent discharge distribution

A method for producing ozone at elevated pressure with a capacity of at least 1 kg ozone/hour by an ozone generator having a high voltage electrode and a counter electrode. The electrodes delimit a gap in which a dielectric is arranged and through which a gas containing oxygen and having a gas pressure of pflows. The high voltage electrode and the counter electrode with a connection for an electric power supply to generate discharges are provided in at least one discharge gap. The power supply provides a voltage in a range from 1 kV to 50 kV and wherein stroke widths di of the discharge are distributed between a minimum stroke width dand a maximum stroke width d. The gas pressure pof the gas containing oxygen at the outlet of the ozone generator is at least 3 bar.

Ozone generation at high pressures

An ozone generator includes a high-voltage electrode and at least one counter electrode, which define an interstice in which at least one dielectric is arranged and through which a gas flows in the flow direction, the high-voltage electrode and the at least one counter electrode being provided with a connection for an electrical voltage supply to generate silent discharges, and a wire fabric being arranged in the gas flow and its density decreasing in the flow direction.

An electrode arrangement for an ozone generator includes a tubular dielectric which concentrically encloses a rod at a distance therefrom, and a filler material provided in an interstice between the tubular dielectric and the rod.

Lightweight, intrinsically safe ozone electrode

An electrode arrangement for an ozone generator with a tubular outer electrode, which concentrically encloses a tubular dielectric at a distance therefrom, wherein the dielectric concentrically encloses a rod at a distance therefrom and wherein a filler material is provided in the interstice between the outer electrode and the dielectric and another filler material is provided in the interstice between the dielectric and the rod, wherein the rod is an insulator.

A UV disinfection system for waste water and drinking water, includes a number of UV radiators arranged in cladding tubes, the cladding tubes being configured essentially symmetrically to a longitudinal axis, as well as a cleaning device for the cladding tubes. The cleaning device includes at least one cleaning ring for each cladding tube, which surrounds the cladding tube, the at least one cleaning ring having a scraper ring resting against the cladding tube, at least one drive for driving the cleaning ring in the direction of the longitudinal axis, and supply provisions for supplying pressurized fluid under elevated pressure from a pressure source to the scraper ring are provided, wherein pressure may be applied onto the scraper ring from the pressure source in the direction of the cladding tube.

UV disinfection system for waste water and drinking water including a cleaning device

A method for generating ozone from gases containing oxygen. The ozone is generated by silent electric discharge in an installation comprising at least two gaps, which are traversed by the gas, each of said gaps being formed between an electrode and a dielectric that separates each gap from an additional electrode. According to the invention, the restriction of the volumetric flow of the gas of at least one gap is controlled.
