Exhaust-gas turbocharger and method for manufacturing the same

An exhaust-gas turbocharger having a compressor with a compressor wheel, a turbine with a turbine wheel, a shaft on which the compressor wheel and the turbine wheel are arranged, a control rod for actuating an adjustment apparatus of the exhaust-gas turbocharger, and an actuator for moving the control rod. A damping apparatus with an elastic element is fixedly connected to the control rod and projects in two opposite directions from the control rod.

The invention relates to a regulating method for a turbocharger () with a turbine () which has a variable turbine geometry (VTG) provided with adjustable guide blades (), having the following method steps: a) closing the guide blades () of the variable turbine geometry (VTG), as a function of the present operating point of the internal combustion engine which is turbocharged by means of the turbocharged (), to the maximum possible closing position of the guide blades () for said operating point, and b) regulating the charge pressure (P) by adjusting the position of the guide blades () in a closed regulating loop.

The present invention relates to an exhaust-gas turbocharger for use in an internal combustion engine and to a method for assembling and/or setting an exhaust-gas turbocharger. According to the invention, the exhaust-gas turbocharger comprises a regulating mechanism and an actuator device for actuating the regulating mechanism, wherein the actuator device comprises a control rod with a first part and a second part. The second part of the control rod has a guide, which is designed in such a way that it at least partially surrounds the first part. Moreover, the second part has at least one hole, wherein the first part is connected to the second part by a welded or assembly joint, which is arranged in the at least one hole.

Exhaust-gas turbocharger for use with an internal combustion engine

The present invention relates to a valve control device () having a housing () which has a vacuum chamber () and an atmospheric pressure chamber () which are separated from one another in a gas-tight manner by a spring-loaded diaphragm (); having a diaphragm plate () arranged on the diaphragm (); and having a regulating rod () which, in the region of a regulating rod head (A), is operatively connected to the diaphragm (), wherein the diaphragm plate () is formed as a plastic injection-molded part.

Valve control device

The present invention relates to a valve control device () having a housing (), which comprises a first low pressure chamber () and a first atmospheric pressure chamber (), which are separated from each other in a gas-tight manner by means of a spring-loaded first membrane (); having a control rod () for controlling the position of a locking element of the bypass valve (), wherein the control rod () is operatively connected to the first membrane (), further having a second low pressure chamber (), which is flow-connected to the first low pressure chamber (), and having a second spring-loaded membrane (), which is arranged in the second low pressure chamber () and is coupled to the first membrane (), wherein the control rod () is mounted on the second membrane ().

A linear sensor is described with a casing (), with a pin () which contains a permanent magnet () and which is mounted in the casing () in a linearly displaceable manner against the force of a spring (), and with a magnetic field sensor () attached to said casing () for detecting of a displacement of the permanent magnet (). The invention provides that the pin () is controlled by a first cylindrical guide () and a second cylindrical guide ().

Linear sensor

A method for preventing the rupture of a compressor wheel and/or turbine wheel of an exhaust-gas turbocharger of a motor vehicle includes establishing loading limit values (n(G)) for the compressor wheel and/or the turbine wheel in bench tests. The method further includes determining loading variables (n) for the compressor wheel and/or turbine wheel during the operation of the exhaust-gas turbocharger in the motor vehicle. In addition, the method includes processing the determined loading variables (n) in order to establish a loading characteristic value (n(i)) which represents real exhaust-gas turbocharger operation. Further, the method includes comparing the loading limit value (n(G)) with the loading characteristic value (n(i)). The method also includes outputting a warning (W) if the comparison of the loading limit value (n(G)) with the loading characteristic value (n(i)) yields an exceedance of a predefinable safety margin.
