A device for wireless transmission of electrical energy to an energy receiver, including a support surface, on which the energy receiver is arranged during energy transmission. The device includes an induction coil for transmitting electrical energy and an air duct extending within the device from an opening formed in the support surface into the device. The opening is arranged over the induction coil. The air duct is routed through a winding of the induction coil, which is preferably arranged directly under the support surface. Advantageously, the support surface is essentially rectangular, and the opening is formed on or at least close to a longitudinal axis of the support surface and is formed at a distance from an edge of the support surface. At least one projection is formed on the support surface for holding the receiving unit at a distance from the support surface so that air conducted into the air duct can better flow underneath.

Device for wireless transmission of electrical energy

Controlling the output power of a radio transmitter includes operating the transmitter at an initial power level setting and making an output power measurement. The measured value is adjusted by a desired incremental value and the adjusted value is then compared with the power of the original baseband signal to obtain a representation of what the gain should be if the radio transmitter power is properly adjusted to achieve the desired incremental value. The output power of the radio transmitter is than actually adjusted, and the actual gain is measured. The difference between the actual gain and the representation of what the gain should be if the radio transmitter power is properly adjusted is used to determine a further power adjustment of the radio transmitter that will reduce the difference.

Real time transmission power control

A wireless communication transmitter is configured to determine transmitter phase shift, and correspondingly includes a derivation circuit, one or more slope polarity tracking circuits, and a phase shift computation circuit. The derivation circuit derives a reference signal from a signal input to the transmitter and a feedback signal from the transmit signal corresponding to that input signal. So derived, differences in the reference and feedback signals reveal the effect the transmitter has on the transmit signal. Accordingly, the transmitter focuses on differences in the polarities of the reference signal's slope and the feedback signal's slope to determine the effect the transmitter has on the phase of the transmit signal. That is, the slope polarity tracking circuits track the slope polarities of the reference and feedback signals, while the phase shift computation circuit computes the transmitter phase shift as a function of differences in those tracked slope polarities.

Transmitter phase shift determination and compensation

A method for setting the transmitted power of a mobile communication device, particularly for a UMTS, involves setting a transmitted power with great accuracy and a good signal-to-noise ratio. The difference between a measurement of the transmitted power of the signal that is applied to the output antenna and a desired value for transmitted power according to power commands from the base station is used to produce the desired transmitted power.

Method and arrangement for setting the transmission of a mobile communication device

A power supply system comprises a parallel arrangement of a first switched mode power supply () which has a first system bandwidth (LB) and a second switched mode power supply () which has a second system bandwidth (LB) covering higher frequencies than the first system bandwidth (LB). The first switched mode power supply () is dimensioned to supply a first maximal output power (P), the second switched mode power supply () is dimensioned to supply a second maximal output power (P) being smaller than the first maximal output power (P). A control circuit () varies a reference voltage (Vr) of both the first switched mode power supply () and the second switched mode power supply () to obtain a corresponding variation of an output voltage (Vout) of the parallel arrangement.

A transmission stage in polar loop technology includes an amplitude regulation means, a phase regulation means, a VCO and a feedback path. In the feedback path a variable amplifier is provided. The amplitude regulation means is further implemented in order to be controlled by a control means according to a request for a power variation in the output signal of the amplifier in order to correspondingly vary an amplitude control signal for the power amplifier. Simultaneously, the control means is implemented in order to correspondingly control the variable feedback path amplifier, so that the amplitude of the output signal of the variable feedback path amplifier remains in a narrowly limited predetermined range. Thus, power variations in the output signal of the amplifier operated in the non-linear area are held remote from the phase locked loop, so that the phase regulation means may be implemented at low cost and operates reliably anyway.
