An adjustment device for adjusting an article of furniture, includes a drive unit having at least one direct current positioning motor connected to a mains power source; a control unit with at least one switching device for actuating the positioning motor(s); and a mains disconnect relay connected to a mains power plug assembly or a supply line connecting the voltage source to the mains. An additional switching unit which is separate from the switching device(s) for actuating the positioning motor(s) is provided for actuating the mains disconnect relay.

Device for displacing furniture

A linear drive to drive an article of furniture includes at least one drive motor that is coupled with a linearly moveable driven member and a braking system with a controlled braking element which commences the braking function without delay. The braking system can have a small footprint. According to the invention, the drive for the article of furniture can include an actuator, such as a piezo actuator coupled directly or indirectly with the braking element acting on the rotor shaft of the drive motor. The piezo actuator is preferably connected to the electric terminals of the drive motor. The linear drive can be used to adjust the support for a lath bed or a chair.

Linear drive

An electromotive drive mechanism for a body of furniture, includes a worm drive which is activated by a motor and includes a worm received in the casing and a worm wheel in engagement with the worm. Received in the casing is a support body which is closely fitted around the worm and includes a receiving opening for engagement by the worm wheel.

Electromotive drive mechanism for a body of furniture

An electromotive linear drive mechanism, in particular a drive mechanism for a body of furniture, includes an electric motor having an output journal and a rotating spindle which has mounted thereon a nut, secured against rotation. The nut is operatively connected to the body of furniture, for movement in longitudinal direction of the spindle when the spindle rotates. A worm drive includes a worm which rotates about an axis of rotation and is in engagement with the output journal of the electric motor. Connecting the worm drive to the spindle are at least two worm gears which are in engagement with the worm and arranged in symmetric disposition with respect to the rotation axis of the worm. Each worm gear which is connected to a cylindrical gear is in operative engagement with the respective cylindrical gear meshing with the other worm gear.

Electromotive linear drive mechanism

An electromotoric operating mechanism, such as a single drive or dual drive, for height adjustment of an article of furniture, especially for furniture items useful in the field of hospitals and/or nursing, includes a drive having an output member in the form of a worm wheel, a spindle mechanism including an adjusting spindle in driving relationship with the drive, and a spindle nut mounted on the adjusting spindle and interacting with a link member in fixed rotative engagement with a shaft of an adjustable piece of furniture, and a clutch mechanism releasably coupling the output member with the adjusting spindle. The clutch mechanism includes a guide member, which is fixedly secured on the adjusting spindle, and a clutch gear, with the worm wheel rotatably mounted on the guide member. The clutch gear is arranged on the guide member in fixed rotative engagement but axially displaceable relative thereto. Normally, the clutch wheel is in engagement with the worm wheel, but can be moved out of engagement with the worm wheel for disengagement of the driving connection between the spindle mechanism and the drive.

Electromotoric operating mechanism for height adjustment of an article of furniture

A hospital bed or nursing bed has movable components which can be adjusted by a drive including a plastic casing and an electric motor accommodated in the casing. A control block is operatively connected to the drive and includes a circuit board for the control of the electric motor. In order to realize a night light when the lighting of the room is switched off, without significant modification of the plastic casing, a light source is provided which is connected to an electrically conductive pathway of the circuit board. The light source is suitably disposed inside the casing and directly placed onto the electrically conductive pathway of the circuit board. Juxtaposed to the light source is a luminescent rod or light-conducting rod penetrating a wall or lid of the casing for transmitting light rays radiating from the light source.
