A hollow-cylindrical device () having first and second openings () for continuous production of a dental composite block. A curable composite material () and a temperature control unit () are provided. The composite material () is introduced into the device () through the first opening. The composite material () is cured by energy from the temperature control unit (). An energy input occurs across a defined length of the substantially hollow-cylindrical device () and/or for a defined period of time. The composite material () is subsequently guided through the first opening () of the device (). The composite material () is discharged from the second opening (). In a first region along a portion of the length of the device, the device is either provided with an insulation or the flow-through device has a heat conductivity of 0.05 to 12 W/(m&#xd7;K).

Method for producing dental composite blocks

A dental restoration, a method for the production of a dental restoration and a kit. The dental restoration comprises an outer component, in particular a shell, and an inner component, in particular a core. The inner component and the outer component contain composite material. The outer component is mountable or mounted on the inner component. The inner component is designed for attachment onto a tooth preparation, in particular a tooth stump.

Dental restoration and method for the production of a dental restoration

A method of manufacturing a dental post according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (i) overjacketing extrusion of at least one thermoplastic material over at least one filament or yarn, such that the thermoplastic material cross-sectionally enwraps the at least one filament or yarn; (ii) solidifying the extruded product of step (i); (iii) equipping the solidified extruded product of step (ii) with a surface texture, such that the thermoplastic wrapping is not modified in a way as to expose or damage the at least one filament or yarn. The invention allows for more flexibility in the manufacturing of dental posts, especially in generating surface textures of such dental posts.

Dental post

The invention concerns a dental filling material with dual hardening mechanism, wherein i) a first hardening mechanism is based on a photocuring reaction, preferably a radical reaction, and ii) a second hardening mechanism is dependent on HO as a reactant, especially as a ligand. Preferably, the second hardening mechanism is a gypsum-type reaction. Owing to the expansion of the composition an excellent marginal seal can be achieved, while the first hardening mechanism allows for a rapid cure on demand.
