A method for providing a diagnostic message associated with at least one process in a rail vehicle, includes using at least one device of the vehicle to carry out the process, using a diagnostic device of the vehicle associated with the process to produce at least one diagnostic report, and using a data acquisition device to acquire at least one environment dataset. In order to keep the time required for the preprocessing of the information content short despite high data volume, the data acquisition device includes at least one image and/or sound-recording unit. Image and/or sound data being recorded by the image and/or sound-recording unit, the environment dataset containing image and/or sound data, the diagnostic report and the environment dataset are combined by an aggregation unit of the vehicle to produce the diagnostic message. A rail vehicle having an apparatus providing a diagnostic message is also provided.

Method for providing a diagnostic message in a rail vehicle

A method for detecting manipulation of at least one vehicle network of a vehicle includes determining a digital fingerprint of the at least one vehicle network, comparing the digital fingerprint of the at least one vehicle network to reference information, adapting a function of the at least one vehicle network as a function of a result of the comparison, such that operational safety is ensured, and activating a regular control mode if no manipulation of the at least one vehicle network is detected, or activating an operationally safe control mode if manipulation of the at least one vehicle network is detected. A control unit for detecting manipulation of at least one vehicle network of a vehicle carries out control tasks as a function of a result of a comparison of a digital fingerprint of at least one vehicle network to reference information of a control network.

Method and control unit for recognizing manipulations on a vehicle network

A network, in particular an Ethernet network, contains as network elements at least two network components that are interconnected by a network transmission line. Accordingly, at least one expansion unit having two external ports is disposed in the network line for extending the scope thereof, wherein the expansion unit forwards a failure of the network transmission line at one of the ports thereof to a port of the next subsequent network element.

A track-bound vehicle, in particular a railborne vehicle, has a plurality of rail cars and a communication network for transmitting data signals. The communication network has two lines which run through the rail cars of the vehicle. The vehicle is designed in such a way that in each case one of the lines runs in the cars in a first region, and the other of the lines runs in a second region which is spatially separate from the latter, in at least one of the cars the course of the respective one line changes from the first region into the second region, and the course of the respective other line changes from the second region into the first region. Network components for refreshing the data signals that are transmitted in the lines are provided in the first region.
