The present invention relates to a process for the production of multilayer microcapsules, in particular multilayer odiferous substance capsules or fragrance compound capsules, which have improved stability and odiferous substance release or fragrance compound release compared to prior art capsules. In addition, the present invention relates to multilayer microcapsules comprising at least one hydrophobic odiferous substance or fragrance compound obtainable by the process of the invention. In another aspect, the invention described herein relates to multilayer microcapsules comprising a core comprising at least one hydrophobic odiferous substance or fragrance compound, and a capsule shell. In addition, the present invention relates to the use of the multilayer microcapsules and suspensions of the multilayer microcapsules as an ingredient in detergents, fabric softeners, cleaning products, scent boosters in liquid or solid form, cosmetics, personal care products, agricultural products or pharmaceutical products.

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of microcapsules, in particular isocyanate-based microcapsules with improved stability to carboxylic acid and aldehyde-containing active ingredients as core material. In addition, the present invention relates to microcapsules obtainable by the process according to the invention. In addition, the present invention relates to microcapsules, suspensions of such microcapsules, and the use of the microcapsules and suspensions as a component in detergents, fabric softeners, cleaning products, scent boosters (fragrance enhancers) in liquid or solid form, cosmetics, personal care products, agricultural products, or pharmaceutical products.

The invention relates to the field of capsules having a high load of active ingredients or substances, to the use thereof in cosmetic preparations, pharmaceuticals, household products, cleaning agents and technical compositions, e.g. adhesive and coating compositions, and to the manufacturing of the capsules.

The invention relates to a method for producing microcapsules, comprising the following steps: (a) providing a first aqueous preparation containing at least one prepolymer; (b) providing a second non-aqueous preparation containing the active substance to be encapsulated; (c) mixing the aqueous and the non-aqueous phases in the presence of at least one emulsifier and/or stabilizer in order to form an emulsion; (d) polymerizing the at least one prepolymer contained in the emulsion from step (c) in order to obtain a dispersion of microcapsules that enclose the active substance; (e) hardening and cross-linking the microcapsules obtained in step (d); and optionally (f) removing the microcapsules from the dispersion and drying the microcapsules, the method being characterized in that the emulsion is formed in the presence of at least one 1,2-diol in step (c).

Active ingredient capsules are proposed which are obtainable by, with the input of mechanical and thermal energy, (a) dissolving and/or dispersing proteins, polysaccharides and cellulose derivatives in water, (b) adding the active ingredients to be encapsulated, (c) hardening the resulting coacervates with the addition of tannins and optionally (d) then subjecting them to a spray drying.
