Methods and apparatuses for scheduling and indicating scheduling information in a wireless local area network (WLAN). A station (STA) includes a transceiver configured to receive a header for a protocol data unit and a controller configured to identify common information for a plurality of STAs that are scheduled in the WLAN from a common field in the header and to identify user-specific information for the STA from a user-specific field in the header that follows the common field. An access point (AP) includes a controller configured to include common information for a plurality STAs that are scheduled in the WLAN in a common field in a header of a protocol data unit, and to include user-specific information for the STAs in a user-specific field in the header that follows the common field. The AP also includes a transceiver configured to transmit the protocol data unit including the header.

Efficient signaling and addressing in wireless local area network systems

A method and an apparatus of cooperating with a plurality of base stations in a wireless communication system. A cloud cell is configured with a plurality of base stations that cooperate with each other for a mobile station and synchronizes user contexts for serving the mobile station among the plurality of base stations included in the cloud cell, and the plurality of base stations cooperate with each other to provide a communication service to the mobile station. The present disclosure reduces generation of a handover when the mobile station moves between base stations, and increases the data yield of the mobile station by transmitting and receiving data in cooperation with base stations in a cloud cell at a shaded area or a cell border.

A paging message is received from the base station during a paging listening interval. Methods and systems for channel mapping in a densely deployed network are disclosed. The system includes a node comprising a plurality of base stations configured to communicate with client devices in a wireless communication network, wherein transmission from the base stations to the client devices is conducted on a downlink (DL) frequency band and transmission from the client devices to the base stations is conducted on an uplink (UL) frequency band. The DL frequency band is different from the UL frequency band. DL and UL frequency pairs for the base stations are assigned according to a channel mapping scheme that determines DL and UL frequency pairs based on a plurality of channel parameters. The channel parameters include, for example, received signal strength indicator (RSSI), signal to noise (S/N) ratio, channel capacity, and bit error rate (BER).
