A multi-layer network planning system can determine a set of regenerator sites ('RSs') that have been found to cover all paths among a set of nodes of an optical layer of a multi-layer network and can determine a set of candidate RSs in the optical layer for use by the links between a set of nodes of an upper layer, wherein each RS can be selected as a candidate RS for the links. The system can determine a binary path matrix for the links between the set of nodes of the upper layer. The system can determine a min-cost matrix that includes a plurality of min-cost paths. The system can determine a best RS from the set of candidate RSs and can move the best RS from the set of candidate RSs into the set of RSs for the links. The system can then update the binary path matrix.

Routing and regenerator planning in a carrier's core reconfigurable optical network

A new scalable approach to conflict-free deployment of changes across networks. The conflict rules or constraints may be modeled using policies and algorithms to determine an optimized schedule for change deployment.

Conflict-free change deployment

A framework referred to as COmposition fRamework for chaNge management (CORNET) may integrate re-usable abstraction, modular composition with plug-and-play capabilities, or automated translation of high-level change management intent into low-level implementations and mathematical models. CORNET may use real-world data collected from cellular networks (e.g., 4G or 5G) and virtualized services, such as virtual private networks (VPN) and software defined wide area networks (SDWAN) running in the cloud.

Change deployment system

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a processing system identifies a plurality of performance indicators comprising device performance indicators for a plurality of communication devices on a cellular network and network performance indicators for the cellular network. The method also includes obtaining historical data regarding the plurality of performance indicators for each of a series of time points during a past time period; the historical data for each of the plurality of performance indicators form an array of values for that performance indicator. The method further includes generating from each array a set of inputs to an algorithm for predicting a throughput of the cellular network during a future time period; the set of inputs comprises quantiles of the array, and the algorithm comprises a machine learning algorithm. System and method for throughput prediction for cellular networks

A processing system may obtain an intent comprising a desired network state for a telecommunication network, determine an existing network state, where the desired network state and the existing network state are defined in accordance with a graph representing the telecommunication network, where the graph includes objects and relationships between the plurality of objects, and where each of the objects includes one or more properties. The processing system may compose a strategy that includes a plurality of policies to obtain the desired network state from the existing network state, where each of the policies comprises an action that is to be implemented in the telecommunication network, where the composing comprises performing a state exploration process over the graph, and where each state transition of the process corresponds to one of the policies. The processing system may then implement the strategy to place the telecommunication network in the desired network state.

Network intent synthesis

A method includes receiving, at a model and optimization framework, a request, rendered in a first format, for a service to be implemented on a subset of a software-defined network. The request includes at least one constraint affecting implementation of the service. The method includes producing an optimized solution, rendered in a second format, for implementing the service based on the at least one constraint. The method includes translating the optimized solution to the first format and providing instructions for a cloud manager to implement the service consistent with the translated optimized solution.
