Disclosed is a training system for providing fitness training to a user riding an e-bike. The training system includes a motor system attached to a rear wheel of the e-bike and a detachable training stand for raising the rear wheel from the ground to allow the user to ride in various terrain modes from a stationary position. The motor system includes a stator assembly, a rotor assembly, an axle, a memory unit configured in the stator assembly to store set of instructions and plurality of terrain modes for riding the e-bike, and a bi-directional communication unit attached to the stator assembly for receiving terrain modes and other commands over the communication network. The motor system further includes a processing unit coupled to the memory unit and configured in the stator assembly for processing the set of instructions to: receive the terrain mode for setting the motor system over the communication network through the bi-directional communication unit in real time and change the motor quadrant of operation in the real time depending upon the received terrain mode. The motor system further includes a free-hub assembly attached to the rotor assembly, a free-hub spacer rotates proportionally with the pedaling speed of the user, free-hub produces a pattern for sensing pedaling speed and pedaling direction and a magnetic sensor configured on the axle for processing the pattern of pedaling speed and pedaling direction received from the free-hub magnets. The processing unit processes the information from the magnetic sensor to derive the power generated by the user during pedaling.

Training system for an e-bike

Disclosed is a liquid filled electric motor to eliminate over-heating of direct drive motors and for preventing leakage of liquid from inside to the outside environment. The liquid filled electric motor is attached to the frame of a vehicle. The liquid filled electric motor includes a stationary axle attached to the frame of the vehicle, an angled hole configured on the stationary axle, a rotor for rotating around the stationary axle; a stator attached directly to the stationary axle, and one or more cables to energize the stator. The cables exit at an angle through the angled hole in the stationary axle to prevent capillary action for preventing leakage from inside to the outside environment. The level of the liquid is less than the full volume of the empty space in the electric motor.

A multi-phase multi-pole electric machine attached to a vehicle. The multi-phase multi-pole electric machine includes rotor, stator with five phase windings, machine controller, and torque sensors. The machine controller controls the flow of current. The torque sensors sense the torque exerted by the vehicle and transmits the information to the machine controller. The machine controller provides four degree of control through injection of five phase currents and thus providing higher torque.

A multiphase brushless permanent magnet motor has a stator provided with at least one winding for each phase, the windings permanently connected to each other at a plurality of junctions. A power source is coupled, via controlled motor energization circuitry, to a plurality of terminals connected to respective junctions, the number of which terminals is fewer than the number of motor phases. The motor energization circuitry is appropriately controlled by a central processor. A reduced number of controllable states is achieved while retaining a high degree of precision controllability. Thus, duplication of identical energization circuitry for each phase is avoided.
