A demolition hammer includes a housing defining an interior cavity, a power cell having a front head, and a wear plate. The power cell is disposed within the interior cavity of the housing. The wear plate is interposed between the housing and the front head of the power cell. The wear plate includes a body defining a central longitudinal axis. The body has a face that includes a bottom end, a top end in spaced relationship to the bottom end along the central longitudinal axis, and a pair of lateral edges in spaced relationship to each other along a transverse axis that is perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis. The face includes an interface surface that defines at least one channel extending along the central longitudinal axis and that is in proximate relationship with the front head of the power cell.

A protection assembly for a work implement includes an outer shield member and an inner shield member. The outer shield member is spaced from a housing of the work implement in a longitudinal direction and defines a channel. The channel extends to an exterior of the protection assembly. The inner shield member defines an opening and is slideably disposed in the channel. The inner shield member is free to slide in a transverse direction that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Movement of the inner shield member in the longitudinal direction is restricted by the housing of the work implement and the outer shield member. Movement of the inner shield member in the transverse direction is restricted by a work tool that is locked within and projects out of the housing and through the opening in the inner shield.

A plug assembly configured for installation in a hammer assembly, the plug assembly comprising a cylindrical plug and an anti-rotation component. The cylindrical plug may include a plug head and a plug body. The cylindrical plug may include a receiving feature located in the plug head. The anti-rotation component may include a first locking feature and a second locking feature. The first locking feature may be configured to fixably engage with the receiving feature. The second locking feature may be configured to engage with the hammer assembly.

A plug assembly configured for installation in a hammer assembly, the plug assembly comprising a cylindrical plug and an anti-rotation component. The cylindrical plug may include a plug head and a plug body. The plug head may include a first hole and a second hole opposite the first hole, each hole extending from the outer surface of the plug head. The anti-rotation component may include a first linear portion and a second linear portion. The first linear portion and second linear portion may both be configured to fixably engage with the hammer assembly.

A hydraulic hammer may include a power cell adapted to reciprocally drive a piston along an axis. The piston may, in turn, drive a hammer tool having a first end juxtaposed against the piston for accommodating cyclic impacts by the piston. While the first end of the hammer tool may be contained within a housing, the other end may extend from the housing for impacting rock, for example. The power cell and housing are axially secured together by a plurality of tie rods and nuts secured to ends of the tie rods, and the housing may include exterior pockets for accommodating the nuts. Each nut may have a circular exterior surface, and each nut pocket may have a generally elliptical interior surface, such that the exterior surface of each nut may be configured to engage at least two spaced apart areas of a corresponding interior surface of each nut pocket.

A hydraulic hammer having a front head and a lower bushing is disclosed. Also disclosed is a system and method for easily removing the lower bushing from the front head. The front head of the hydraulic hammer may define a bore therein and an inner surface of the bore may have a first taper. The lower bushing of the hydraulic hammer may be capable of being positioned within the bore of the front head and an outer surface of the lower bushing may have a second taper, with the first taper substantially following the second taper.

System and method for easy removal of hydraulic hammer bushing

A lubrication system for a work tool, such as a demolition hammer, on a machine, such as an excavator or a loader. The lubrication system is mounted on drive line fluid connectors of the machine, such as hydraulic or pneumatic hoses. The lubrication system is fully supported by the connectors only and does not require mounting to the machine itself. The lubrication system includes a movable spool powered by the drive fluid of the machine, the spool reciprocating within a sleeve to force lubricant through passages to the work tool.
