Embodiments are disclosed for adding node highlighting to vector graphics. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods comprise receiving a selection of a plurality of anchor points of a vector graphic to be highlighted, generating a graph representing one or more path objects of the vector graphic, each node of the graph corresponding to an anchor point of the one or more path objects and each connection corresponding to a path segment connecting the anchor point to another anchor point, identifying a highlight trajectory including a subset of nodes from the graph, the highlight trajectory including at least a start node and an end node, generating a highlight path including at least one or more highlight nodes corresponding to a subset of nodes from the highlight trajectory, and updating the vector graphic to include the highlight path.

Digital image editing techniques are described as implemented by a depth-aware system of a computing device. The depth-aware system employs a depth-aware grid that defines constraints for depth-aware editing of digital images involving perspective. These techniques support automated editing in which changes to directional spacing, perspective arrangement, perspective movement, object redistribution, and so on are implemented in real time, which is not possible in conventional techniques involving object distortion. As such, these techniques improve operation of the computing device that implements these techniques as well as user efficiency in interacting with the computing device to perform digital image editing that involves perspective.

Digital image editing using a depth-aware system

Techniques are described for selective extraction of color attributes from digital images that overcome the challenges experienced in conventional systems for color extraction. In an implementation, a user applies a region selector to a source image to select a portion of the source image for color attribute extraction. A graphics editing system identifies a selected region of the source image as well as visual objects of the source image included as part of the selected region. The graphics editing system iterates through the selected visual objects and extracts color attributes from the visual objects, such as color values, patterns, gradients, gradient stops, opacity, color area, and so forth. The graphics editing system then generates a color palette that includes the extracted color attributes, and the color palette is able to be utilized for various image editing tasks, such as digital image creation and transformation.

Digital image dynamic shadow generation is described as implemented by a dynamic shadow system using one or more computing devices. The dynamic shadow system is configured to generate shadow objects based on one or more source objects included in a digital image (e.g., a two-dimensional digital image), automatically and without user intervention. The shadow object is based on a shape of the source object that is to 'cast' the shadow and thus promotes realism. The shadow object is also generated by the dynamic shadow system to address an environment, in which, the shadow object is disposed within the digital image.

Embodiments are disclosed for identify a proportional dominant color palette of a vector graphics content and recolor the vector graphics content by editing the proportional dominant color palette. In particular, one method comprises obtaining a vector graphic, determining, by a palette extraction manager, a plurality of colors from the vector graphic, grouping, by the palette extraction manager, the plurality of colors into a plurality of groups based on color characteristics, determining, by the palette extraction manager, a plurality of dominant colors corresponding to the plurality of groups based on a subset of the plurality of colors associated with each group, determining, by the palette extraction manager, a plurality of weights corresponding to the plurality of colors, and generating, by the palette extraction manager, a proportional dominant color palette for the vector graphic based on the plurality of dominant colors and the corresponding plurality of weights.
