The present disclosure provides a patient system and method for interfacing with and controlling an oral medication dispensing device. The system registers the dispensing device to a particular patient and records biometric data regarding the patient. Upon verifying a dose schedule and biometric authentication of the patient, the system authorizes use of the medication dispensing device and causes an activator mechanism to activate. In doing so, an activator mechanism within the dispensing device moves a medication cartridge between a stored position and a dispensing position, where it can be compressed to safely and efficiently dispense medication to the patient.

The present disclosure provides a physician system and method for interfacing with and controlling an oral medication dispensing device. The system registers a patient under the care of a doctor and records a dose schedule for the patient. The dose schedule specifies a particular medication and associated volume and timing interval for administration to the patient via a medication dispensing device. A medication cartridge is with the dose schedule. An invitation link is sent to the patient for the patient to link the physician system with their patient system and the medication dispensing device. The dose schedule can be pushed to the patient system to populate the patient system with the specifics of the dose schedule.

The device includes a housing containing a cartridge carrier, designed with a specific connector to align with a medication cartridge. The device also includes an authentication mechanism that works in conjunction with an activator mechanism. When operated, the activator mechanism causes the cartridge carrier to move the medication cartridge between a stored position and a dispensing position, where it can be compressed to safely and efficiently dispense medication to a user.
