A cylinder head assembly includes a cylinder head casting, and an injector sleeve within an injector bore in the cylinder head casting. The injector sleeve includes a first sleeve end, and an injector clamping surface formed by an inner sleeve surface adjacent to a cylindrical second sleeve end. The injector sleeve further includes a sleeve clamping surface in contact with an upward facing middle deck surface of the cylinder head casting, and a reaction wall extending between the injector clamping surface and the sleeve clamping surface to transfer an injector clamping load to the upward facing middle deck surface.

An engine power module includes a water jacket, a cylinder liner, and a cylinder head. The water jacket forms a coolant supply conduit arranged in a lower coolant annulus extending around the cylinder liner and an upper coolant annulus extending around the cylinder head. The cylinder head has formed therein an injector bore, and a plurality of drill holes convergent on the injector bore. A lower coolant cavity in the cylinder head forms a coolant flow path extending circumferentially around the injector bore between a cavity inlet opening fluidly connected to the coolant supply conduit, and a cavity connection opening fluidly connected to an upper coolant cavity. The arrangement provides flows of coolant through the drill holes to cool an injector sleeve, and separate coolant flows through the lower coolant cavity and upper coolant cavity.

A method of bank to bank trimming for a locomotive engine during steady state operation comprises receiving a plurality of operating parameter signals, receiving a fuel quantity signal for each of a standard cylinder bank and a donor cylinder bank, providing a trim map, determining whether the engine is operating in a steady state condition based on the plurality of operating parameter signals, determining a target fuel injection duration for each of the standard cylinder bank and the donor cylinder bank if the engine is operating in a steady state condition, and adjusting an actual fuel injection duration to equal the target fuel injection duration for the standard cylinder bank and the donor cylinder bank.

Further, housing includes a tubular wall defining an annular chamber along a circumference of the first air inlet portion. Tubular wall comprising a second air inlet portion. Housing further includes an opening formed in a wall of first air inlet portion, contiguously extending along the circumference of the first air inlet portion, to fluidly couple the annular chamber with the first air inlet portion. The opening being formed at an offset from the second air inlet portion. The opening defines a first edge and a second edge in the wall of the first air inlet portion. The first edge and the second edge are radially offset from each other with respect to a central axis of the first air inlet portion.

A compressor assembly is disclosed. The compressor assembly may have a compressor housing and a compressor impeller disposed within the compressor housing. The compressor impeller may have a hub extending from a hub front end to a hub rear end and an exducer blade disposed on the hub adjacent the hub rear end. The compressor impeller may further include a hub extension extending outward from the hub rear end. The compressor assembly may also have an impeller cap disposed on the hub extension. Further, the compressor assembly may have a windage seal disposed on the impeller cap. The windage seal may be separated from a blade rear surface by an axial gap. In addition, the compressor assembly may have a compressor diffuser disposed within the compressor housing. The compressor diffuser may have a diffuser inner surface separated from an outer rim of the exducer blade by a radial gap.

A turbocharger for a powered machine including a turbine is disclosed. The turbocharger may include a turbine wheel including a disk section, the disk section including a disk body, the disk body including a length extending between a longitudinal axis and a blade platform. The disk section may further include a shoulder section positioned radially outward the longitudinal axis, a neck section positioned radially outward the shoulder section and a throat section positioned radially outward the neck section, an upstream axial plane coextensive with an upstream side of the blade platform, a downstream axial plane coextensive with a downstream side of the blade platform. Further, the turbine burst shield section may have a geometry that peaks in depth in the burst plane which prevents ejection of secondary mass in the event of a turbine burst.

This document discloses an exhaust gas turbocharger, which includes a turbine disk connected to a turbine disk hub. The turbine disk hub extends distally away from the turbine disk and towards a shaft that connects the turbine disk to a compressor. The shaft includes a proximal end that includes a shaft hub that extends proximally away from the shaft and towards the turbine disk hub. The turbine disk hub is coaxially connected to the shaft hub at a joint. The turbine disk hub and the shaft hub form a cavity between the turbine disk and the proximal end of the shaft. The turbocharger also includes a sleeve having an inner surface that surrounds and engages at least part of the turbine disk hub, at least part of the shaft hub and that further surrounds the joint and partially surrounds the cavity. The sleeve provides structural reinforcement for the joint and additional cooling functions beyond the cooling function provided by the cavity.

The compressor impeller assembly may further have an insert screwed into the impeller bore, the insert having a threaded insert bore. The stud may have a first threaded portion engaged with the threaded insert bore. The stud may also have a second threaded portion engaged with the threaded shaft bore.

The collar may further have a journal portion having a second bore configured to receive a shaft connectable to the impeller. The collar may also have a slinger disposed between the cap portion and the journal portion. The slinger may have a generally cylindrical shape and may have a front face. The slinger may also have a rear face opposite the front face. Further, the slinger may have a cylindrical side surface extending between the front face and the rear face. In addition, the slinger may have a groove disposed on the side surface.

The present invention generally relates to a new valve guide for use in an exhaust valve system. Specifically, the invention is related to a valve guide that prevents acidic corrosion between the valve and the valve guide. The valve guide includes a number of contact portions, which engage the channel that is formed in the cylinder head near the exhaust port. The valve guide also includes a recess portion, situated in relation to a water jacket and between the contact portions. The recess portion and contact portions are sized and shaped to maintain the surface temperature of the valve guide to prevent condensation of acidic gases between the valve stem and the valve guide.
