Methods and apparatus relating to scalable access control checking for cross-address-space data movement are described. In an embodiment, a memory stores an Inter-Domain Permissions Table (IDPT) having a plurality of entries. At least one entry of the IDPT provides a relationship between a target address space identifier and a plurality of requester address space identifiers. A hardware accelerator device allows access to a target address space, corresponding to the target address space identifier, by one or more of requesters, corresponding to the plurality of requester address space identifiers, respectively, based at least in part on the relationship provided by the at least one entry of the IDPT. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.

Scalable access control checking for cross-address-space data movement

Apparatus and method for high-performance page fault handling. For example, one embodiment of an apparatus comprises: one or more accelerator engines to process work descriptors submitted by clients to a plurality of work queues; fault processing hardware logic associated with the one or more accelerator engines, the fault processing hardware logic to implement a specified page fault handling mode for each work queue of the plurality of work queues, the page fault handling modes including a first page fault handling mode and a second page fault handling mode.

Method and apparatus for high-performance page-fault handling for multi-tenant scalable accelerators

Processors, methods, and systems for user-level interprocessor interrupts are described. In an embodiment, a processing system includes a memory and a processing core. The memory is to store an interrupt control data structure associated with a first application being executed by the processing system. The processing core includes an instruction decoder to decode a first instruction, invoked by a second application, to send an interprocessor interrupt to the first application; and, in response to the decoded instruction, is to determine that an identifier of the interprocessor interrupt matches a notification interrupt vector associated with the first application; set, in the interrupt control data structure, a pending interrupt flag corresponding to an identifier of the interprocessor interrupt; and invoke an interrupt handler for the interprocessor interrupt identified by the interrupt control data structure.

User-level interprocessor interrupts

Techniques for increasing link efficiency are disclosed. In one embodiment, a device handle table is created at each end of a link. Device handle allocation messages can be used to associate a particular device handle with a particular domain identifier, such as a bus/device/function (BDF) identifier or a processor address space identifier (PASID). Once a device handle is allocated, messages can be sent between the two ends of the link that include the device handle. The device handle can be used to determine the domain identifier associated with the message. As the device handle can be fewer bits than the domain identifier, the link efficiency can be increased.

The execution unit, in response to the aperture access instruction, is to read a host physical memory address, which is to be associated with an aperture that is to be in system memory, from an access protected structure, and access data within the aperture at a host physical memory address that is not to be obtained through address translation. A network interface controller can be programmed to direct write received data to a memory buffer via either a host-to-device fabric or an accelerator fabric. For packets received that are to be written to a memory buffer associated with an accelerator device, the network interface controller can determine an address translation of a destination memory address of the received packet and determine whether to use a secondary head. If a translated address is available and a secondary head is to be used, a direct memory access (DMA) engine is used to copy a portion of the received packet via the accelerator fabric to a destination memory buffer associated with the address translation. Accordingly, copying a portion of the received packet through the host-to-device fabric and to a destination memory can be avoided and utilization of the host-to-device fabric can be reduced for accelerator bound traffic.

Network interface for data transport in heterogeneous computing environments

Systems and devices can include a controller and a command queue to buffer incoming write requests into the device. The controller can receive, from a client across a link, a non-posted write request (e.g., a deferred memory write (DMWr) request) in a transaction layer packet (TLP) to the command queue; determine that the command queue can accept the DMWr request; identify, from the TLP, a successful completion (SC) message that indicates that the DMWr request was accepted into the command queue; and transmit, to the client across the link, the SC message that indicates that the DMWr request was accepted into the command queue. The controller can receive a second DMWr request in a second TLP; determine that the command queue is full; and transmit a memory request retry status (MRS) message to be transmitted to the client in response to the command queue being full.

Non-posted write transactions for a computer bus

Techniques for offload device address translation fetching are disclosed. In the illustrative embodiment, a processor of a compute device sends a translation fetch descriptor to an offload device before sending a corresponding work descriptor to the offload device. The offload device can request translations for virtual memory address and cache the corresponding physical addresses for later use. While the offload device is fetching virtual address translations, the compute device can perform other tasks before sending the corresponding work descriptor, including operations that modify the contents of the memory addresses whose translation are being cached. Even if the offload device does not cache the translations, the fetching can warm up the cache in a translation lookaside buffer. Such an approach can reduce the latency overhead that the offload device may otherwise incur in sending memory address translation requests that would be required to execute the work descriptor.

Technologies for offload device fetching of address translations

Embodiments of apparatuses, methods, and systems for unified address translation for virtualization of input/output devices are described. In an embodiment, an apparatus includes first circuitry to use at least an identifier of a device to locate a context entry and second circuitry to use at least a process address space identifier (PASID) to locate a PASID-entry. The context entry is to include at least one of a page-table pointer to a page-table translation structure and a PASID. The PASID-entry is to include at least one of a first-level page-table pointer to a first-level translation structure and a second-level page-table pointer to a second-level translation structure. The PASID is to be supplied by the device. At least one of the apparatus, the context entry, and the PASID entry is to include one or more control fields to indicate whether the first-level page-table pointer or the second-level page-table pointer is to be used.

Unified address translation for virtualization of input/output devices

An embodiment of an integrated circuit comprises circuitry to store memory protection information for a non-host memory in a memory protection cache, and perform one or more memory protection checks on a translated access request for the non-host memory based on the stored memory protection information. Secure direct peer-to-peer memory access requests between devices

An embodiment of an integrated circuit comprises circuitry to share page tables associated with a page between a processor memory management unit (MMU) and an input/output memory management unit (IOMMU), store a page table entry in the memory associated with the page, and separately control access to the page from a processor and from a direct memory access (DMA) request based on one or more fields of the stored page table entry. Embodiments of apparatuses, methods, and systems for virtualization of interprocessor interrupts are disclosed. In an embodiment, an apparatus includes a plurality of processor cores; an interrupt controller register; and logic to, in response to a write from a virtual machine to the interrupt controller register, record an interprocessor interrupt in a first data structure configured by a virtual machine monitor and send a notification of the interprocessor interrupt to at least one of the plurality of processor cores.

Methods and apparatus for an accelerator controller hub (ACH). The ACH may be a stand-alone component or integrated on-die or on package in an accelerator such as a GPU. The ACH may include a host device link (HDL) interface, one or more Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) interfaces, one or more high performance accelerator link (HPAL) interfaces, and a router, operatively coupled to each of the HDL interface, the one or more PCIe interfaces, and the one or more HPAL interfaces. The HDL interface is configured to be coupled to a host CPU via an HDL link and the one or more HPAL interfaces are configured to be coupled to one or more HPALs that are used to access high performance accelerator fabrics (HPAFs) such as NVlink fabrics and CCIX (Cache Coherent Interconnect for Accelerators) fabrics. Platforms including ACHs or accelerators with integrated ACHs support RDMA transfers using RDMA semantics to enable transfers between accelerator memory on initiators and targets without CPU involvement.

A graphics processing apparatus may comprise one or more graphics processing engines, a memory, a memory management unit (MMU) including a GPU second level page table and GPU dirty bit tracking, and a provisioning agent to receive a request from a virtual machine monitor (VMM) to provision a subcluster of graphics processing apparatuses, the subcluster including a plurality of graphics processing engines from a plurality of graphics processing apparatuses connected using a scale-up fabric, provision the scale-up fabric to route data within the subcluster of graphics processing apparatuses, and provision a plurality of resources on the graphics processing apparatus for the subcluster based on the request from the VMM.
