A device includes an image formation medium supply, a first portion, and a second portion. The image formation medium supply is to supply a non-absorptive, image formation medium along a travel path and to which a ground element is to be electrically connected. The first portion along the travel path is to receive droplets of ink particles and a non-aqueous resin within a dielectric, non-aqueous carrier fluid on the image formation medium to form at least a portion of an image on the image formation medium. The second portion is downstream from the first portion and is to apply, via heat and pressure, a second polymer structure onto the ink particles, the resin, and the image formation medium to produce an image formation medium assembly.

An image formation device includes at least one frame portion supporting at least one emitter to emit airborne charges, at least one radiation element to emit radiation, and a fluid ejection device to deposit droplets of ink particles within a non-aqueous fluid carrier onto a substrate. Upon relative movement between the at least one frame portion and the substrate, the emitted airborne charges are to electrostatically fix, and the at least one radiation element is to emit radiation to cause at least further fixation of, the deposited particles relative to the substrate.

A device comprising a supply, a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion. The supply is to supply a metallized, non-absorptive media along a travel path, which is electrically connectable to a ground element, the metallized media to carry a first polymer structure. The first portion along the travel path is to receive droplets of ink particles within a dielectric, non-aqueous carrier fluid on the first polymer structure on the media to form an image. The second portion is to apply an adhesion-promoting surface treatment, onto the ink particles and the first polymer structure, comprising UV ozone, plasma, or chemical additive. The third portion is to apply, via heat and pressure, a second polymer structure onto the ink particles and the first polymer structure to produce a media assembly.

A device includes a first portion and a first charge source. The first portion is located along a travel path of a substrate and is to receive ink particles within a carrier fluid in a pattern onto the substrate to at least partially form an image. The first charge source is downstream along the travel path from the first portion and is to emit first polarity charges to charge the at least first color ink particles to move, via electrostatic attraction through the first carrier fluid, to become electrostatically fixed in the pattern relative to the substrate. Via the first charge source or a subsequent charge source, further emission of opposite second polarity charges are to maintain electrostatic fixation of the ink particles in the pattern relative to the substrate.

An airborne-charge receiving layer of a passive electronic paper assembly comprises a first side and opposite second side to be in contact with a charge-responsive media layer. The airborne-charge receiving layer comprises a first material to minimize triboelectric charge transfer at an external surface of the first side of the airborne-charge receiving layer.

An e-paper assembly includes a charge-responsive, re-writable media layer and an airborne-charge receiving layer disposed on the first side of the media layer. A moisture vapor barrier is interposed between the airborne-charge receiving layer and a first side of the charge-responsive media layer, with the moisture vapor barrier including an inorganic material.
