An infant care station can include sensors to detect an environmental characteristic of the infant care station, an access point to access a microenvironment of the infant care station, and a processor to obtain a sealed measurement for the infant care station with the access point in a sealed position. The processor can also obtain the environmental characteristic from sensors monitoring the microenvironment. Additionally, the processor can determine a difference between the environmental characteristic and the sealed measurement and generate an alert indicating an access point sealing issue based on the difference exceeding a predetermined threshold.

Methods and systems for detecting unsealed access points in an infant care station

A contactless power transfer system is provided. The contactless power transfer system includes a first power exchanger coil configured to exchange power. The contactless power transfer system also includes a first power converter operatively coupled to the first power exchanger coil and configured to convert a direct current power to an alternating current power at a system frequency. The contactless power transfer system further includes a controller configured to control an operating state of the first power converter to vary an alternating current power provided to the first power exchanger coil at the system frequency.

One or more parameters of the communication signals change depending on whether the submerged signal represents that the health sensor is at least partially submerged.

A wireless charging device is disclosed. The wireless charging device includes a transmitter detection coil configured to receive a first alternating current (AC) voltage signal having a characteristic associated with a receiver device. Also, the wireless charging device includes a control unit coupled to the transmitter detection coil and configured to detect the receiver device based on the characteristic of the first AC voltage signal. Further, the wireless charging device includes a driver unit coupled to the control unit and configured to convert a direct current (DC) voltage signal of an input power to a second AC voltage signal if the receiver device is detected. In addition, the wireless charging device includes a power transmission coil configured to wirelessly transmit the second AC voltage signal to the receiver device.

A system for safely containing an infant on a mattress is described. The system includes a plurality of panels that extend upwardly from a base that supports the mattress, wherein the plurality of panels and the base form an enclosure around the mattress, and wherein at least one of the plurality of panels is configured to have a locked position and an unlocked position. The system also includes a detection system that detects when the at least one of the plurality of panels is in the unlocked position and a lighting system operatively coupled to the detection system, wherein the lighting system is configured to emit light when the at least one of the plurality of panels is detected to be in the unlocked position. Furthermore, the system includes a power system that provides energy to the lighting system for emitting the light.

Systems and methods for indicating an open porthole in an infant care station

A neonatal care system includes a platform for supporting an infant, a plurality of part tags each embedded in a part within the neonatal care device, and at least one part reader. Each of the plurality of part tags is configured to transmit a part identifier and the at least one part reader is configured to receive the part identifiers transmitted from the plurality of the part tags. A controller is configured to store at least one part identifier catalog, receive the part identifiers from the part reader, and compare the part identifiers generated by the plurality of part tags to the at least one part identifier catalog. If any of the received part identifiers does not match the at least one part identifier catalog, then an alert is generated.

Neonatal care system and method of tracking composition thereof

A wireless charging device includes a power source configured to generate a direct current (DC) voltage signal. Also, the wireless charging device includes a driver unit configured to receive the DC voltage signal and convert the DC voltage signal to a first alternating current (AC) voltage signal. Further, the wireless charging device includes a transmitting unit including a resonant capacitor and a resonant coil, coupled to the driver unit, wherein the transmitting unit is configured to receive and transmit the first AC voltage signal. Additionally, the wireless charging device includes a control unit configured to detect a receiver device based on a change in at least one of a capacitive voltage across the resonant capacitor and an inductive voltage across the resonant coil if the receiver device is positioned within a predetermined distance from the transmitting unit.

A system for safely containing an infant on a mattress is described. The system includes a base that supports the mattress and panels that extend upwardly from the base and together form an enclosure around the mattress. A porthole is defined through at least one of the panels, where the porthole provides access into the enclosure. A porthole door has locked and unlocked positions and covers the porthole only in the locked position. A detection system detects when the porthole door is in the unlocked position. A lighting system is operatively coupled to the detection system and is configured to emit light when the porthole door is detected to be in the unlocked position. A power system provides energy to the lighting system for emitting the light.

An infant care station is described herein that can include a wall of the infant care station, wherein the wall includes a primary latch and at least one secondary latch that includes a hinge with at least one bottom pin and at least one top pin, wherein the infant care station is an incubator, a warmer, or a combination thereof. In some examples, one or more pin acceptors are proximate the hinge, wherein the one or more pin acceptors hold the at least one bottom pin and the at least one top pin of the hinge in a closed position of the wall, and wherein the at least one top pin of the wall is released from the one or more pin acceptors in response to a force applied to the wall.

A method of handling a peak power requirement of a medical imaging deviceis presented. The method includes determining, using at least one controlling unit, a first voltage corresponding to a direct current (DC) link, a second voltage corresponding to one or more energy storage devices, or a combination thereof, where a power sourceis coupled to a plurality of loads via the DC link, and the energy storage devices are coupled to the DC link. Further, the method includes comparing, using the at least one controlling unit, the first voltage with a first reference value and the second voltage with a second reference value and regulating, using at least one controlling unit, at least one of the first voltage and the second voltage based on the comparison, to handle the peak power requirement of the medical imaging device.

A gate driver unit is presented. The gate driver unit includes a first power exchanging coil operatively coupled to a power source. The gate driver unit includes a second power exchanging coil configured to receive power from the first power exchanging coil via a magnetic field and a field focusing element disposed between the first power exchanging coil and the second power exchanging coil and configured to focus the magnetic field onto the second power exchanging coil. The gate driver unit also includes a first circuit coupled to the second power exchanging coil. The gate driver unit includes a gate drive subunit operatively coupled to the first circuit and configured to provide an output signal to a control terminal corresponding to a controllable switch of a second circuit. A magnetic resonance imaging system and a method of contactless power transfer in a magnetic resonance imaging system are also presented.

A power generation system is provided. The system includes a prime mover for transforming a first energy to a second energy. The system also includes an induction generator operatively coupled to the prime mover and configured to generate electrical power using the second energy. The system further includes an inverter electrically coupled to the induction generator for controlling a terminal voltage of the induction generator during a grid-loss condition. The system also includes a power dissipating device operatively coupled to the inverter for dissipating power generated by the induction generator during the grid-loss condition.
